Traffic News: Another peso fare hike on jeepney and bus fare eyed

Another peso fare hike is eyed on jeepney and bus fare by transportation groups. The said petition, however, may possibly have a delay in implementation since the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) needs to consult with other government agencies like the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). Heads up for travelers and local commuters, since adjustments for another fare hike might be implemented soon. However, there are also chances of lowering the fare if the prices of crude in the world market will go back to normal [2].

Codcod in San Carlos, an emerging agri-tourism destination

Negros Occidental dubbed as the island of sweet surprises is more than just sugarcane plantations, mountain resorts, white sugar beaches, ancestral homes and delectable delicacies. Negros Occidental is also rich in farm resorts and agri-tourism destinations. One of them is the Codcod Rice and Vegetable Terraces located in San Carlos City. If you want to experience the rich agriculture of Negros Occidental, going to Codcod is worthy to consider. Going there is easy because it can be accessible by bus, jeepney, and habal-habal (motorcycle), the common mode of transportation of the locals.

Special non-working holiday on Nov. 5

November 5 is a special non-working holiday in Negros Occidental province in commemoration of the Cinco de Noviembre through Republic Act No. 6709. While commemorating the hardships of Negrenses who fought for the province’s freedom from the Hispanics, this is also a chance for an extended vacation at home or nearby beaches in Bacolod City. Make the most out of the long weekend by also participating in activities at the Provincial Capitol.
