Some families are contented with spending time at home, while some look for places where they can enjoy a common interest together. If your bunch fits the description of the latter and you haven't decided yet where to bring your loved ones, why not check out these diverse shows that Bacolod offers?

1. Linghod: ALAB sa Bacolod!

Showcase your talent during the open mic!

Want to spend the holidays singing your heart out? You can do so at Linghod: ALAB sa Bacolod. Set on December 8, 2018 at Chew and Chill Cuisine, this event is the first videoke and open mic night organized by ALAB. ALAB is an organization founded to celebrate music, literature, and the arts. Its members believe in transcending boundaries in looking for solutions to relevant issues happening now.

All the proceeds of the event will go to Linghod, an environmental organization based in Bacolod City. So by going, you won’t only enjoy the night but will also be able to help a cause!

How to get there: From Libertad, ride any public utility jeepney with a Mansilingan route and ask the driver to drop you off Bangga Cory. Once there, you can just cross the street and walk a few steps to the restaurant.

Tip: Practice your song beforehand to be confident on stage!

2. 6100 Fight Night

Where: 10th Lacson Street
When: December 8, 2018

Are you looking for some action this December? 6100 Martial Arts and Fitness Gym will host 12 amateur boxing and kickboxing bouts on December 8, 2018 at 7:00 PM in its Fight Night. It will showcase the best and brightest athletes both in boxing and kickboxing. If you are a sports enthusiast or a fan of these kinds of events, you will surely enjoy the fight.

How to get there: Either take a Bata or Mandalagan jeep which passes in the main roads of Bacolod. Ask to be dropped off in BPI bank Lacson. You will see the gym at the back of the bank.

Tip: Try to research on the possible moves that the athletes will do so you can appreciate the match well.

3. December Avenue Live in Bacolod

When: December 23, 2018

December Avenue is a five-member indie band from Manila known for its power ballad and alternative rock music. The group started in 2007 when the members were just freshmen in college. Their songs talk mostly about life and moving on—themes which, they believe, are reflected in their band name. Zel Bautista, the vocalist, shared in an interview that since December is the last month of the year, it is provides the avenue for a new year to take on.

Catch them live here in Bacolod this December 23, 2018, but be sure to listen to their best tracks beforehand to enjoy the show completely.

Tip: Wear comfortable clothes when attending concerts, as these are usually crowded.

4. Heroes' Day Off: A BaCon Pop Costume Party!

Calling all BaCon Poppers, Cosplayers, Pop Culture fanatics, geeks, freaks and anyone who just wants to do something different this December: you can head out to this party in your most dashing costume on December 29, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Heroes will not be welcome though, as the theme requires you to go as a villain from any pop culture genre.

There will be a live anime band, a DJ, food, and booze. The best dressed attendees will be awarded. If you are fascinated with villains, this is the place to be!

How to get there: The venue is yet to be announced. Keep posted for details.

Tip: If you want to win the “Best Dressed” award, it would be best to prepare your costume way before the event to achieve the look you want.
