In the past few days, Bacolod City has experienced bright sky and humid temperature. But this week, expect increasing chances of rainy days and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, roads near the market, especially in Amelia Street in Libertad Market, are now wider and cleaner following the clearing operations of sidewalk stalls in the road. For everyone in the city, there’s nothing more exciting than knowing that the upcoming 40th Masskara Festival will bring fabulous activities as the Silver MassKara Festival Organization, Inc. (SMFOI) plans to level up the festival. For the full details, read on!
Weather Advisory: Clouds and thunderstorms throughout the week
This week’s weather may not be best for an outing. There will be a slight chance of sun on Monday, August 26, so you may still enjoy National Heroes Day exploring coffee shops and attractions near the City of Smiles. However, starting Tuesday, August 27, rains and thunderstorms will dominate and it’s not a good idea to go farther from the city. For your reference, the temperature this week will range from 28°C to 31°C [1].
Traffic News: Clearing of Amelia Street in Libertad Market sidewalk a success
In compliance with memorandum dated July 29, 2019 from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to implement the clearing of roads, the City Legal Office (CLO) enforcement team led the demolition of 50 percent of the stalls at Amelia Street in Libertad Public Market in Bacolod City [2].
37 fruit and vegetable stalls occupying the said street were already removed successfully as per Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda, Cluster Head on Markets. He added that the ground floor of Libertad Annex Building will be the new area for the affected vendors. He also mentioned that the number of vendors increased from 235 to 380. As such, they are now validating the list of those who will be qualified in availing space inside the Annex Building.
Travel Update: Experience a more fabulous 40th Masskara Festival celebration
