Definitely, the ones on your checklist will know you’ve been cramming. Fortunately, there are shopping stores in Bacolod with adjusted mall hours on December 25 . You can go into a desperate shopping frenzy because they have heard your worries and wishes. You can also satisfy your appetite at the shopping mall’s specialty restaurants after a long day of hunting for sale items. And if you stay after dark, bright colorful lights displayed from one of the malls may be the perfect family Christmas photo for your Instagram feed.


1. Ayala Malls Capitol Central

Location: Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City

Along the corners of North and South Capitol Road, Ayala Malls Capitol Central will open its doors for last-minute shoppers on Christmas Day. Filipino designer brands for teens like Bench and Penshoppe, Japanese products from Daiso, Mumuso, Japan Home, and a central bazaar selling various dry goods are open to help you tick off some on your list. At night, you can see the mall showcase a festival of lights at the front entrance. The mall also has a chapel, a first for a mall in the city. So if you missed the Christmas Mass, grab the opportunity to offer a prayer and say your thanks at the mall’s chapel.

How to get to Ayala Mall Capitol Central: From Lopue’s Mandalagan, Ride a Bata-Libertad PUV that is bound to the downtown area. Then get off at the main entrance of Ayala Mall Capitol Central located at the back of Provincial Capitol Lagoon.



2. 888 Chinatown Square

Location: Chinatown Square Complex, Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City
Store hours on Christmas Day: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

888 Chinatown Square is the locals’ go-to shopping mall for cheap finds of every kind. Dubbed as “Bacolod’s Divisoria”, the Chinese-owned mall sells knock-off designer brands of shoes, clothes, and accessories – the latest trends for a friendly price. If you want something sentimental for your loved ones, customized shirts, mugs, and whatnot can be found on the second floor. The mall is also known to have several RTW (Ready-to-wear) shops. A play area and an amusement center for kids will also be open for busy moms with children during the shopping spree.

How to get to 888 Chinatown Square: If you are around the south or Libertad Market, take a Mandalagan-Libertad jeepney bound north. Then ask the driver to drop you off at 888 Chinatown Square. You can either proceed to the west building or cross the street to the east building.


3. SM City Bacolod

Location: Chinatown Square Complex, Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City
Store hours on Christmas Day:
Supermarket - 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Department Store - 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Main Mall - 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM

The home of international clothing brands like H&M, Forever 21, and Uniqlo, SM City Bacolod is ready for your Christmas shopping. Having the biggest department store in the city, the mall offers anything you need from your shopping list. If you have a techy nephew, the mall has a Cyberzone, the biggest circle of stores that sells all kinds of electronic gadgets. And once you are done hunting for gifts, treat yourself with a good meal at the mall’s specialty restaurants such as Vikings, Cabalen, and Mesa.



How to get to SM City Bacolod: Take a Homesite-Central Market PUV along Burgos Street that is bound west or downtown area. Then get off on either the North or South Building of SM City Bacolod.


4. Robinsons Place Bacolod

Location: Lacson Street, Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City
Store hours on Christmas Day: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM

If you are buying for a foreign friend, Robinsons Place Bacolod has the latest in fashion with a touch of the Negrenses’ traditional style. Besides the modern retail stores, the mall also has The Negros Showroom located at the Central City Walk where you can cop native local products. Various brands of shoes or kicks like Vans, Converse, Fila, Under Armour, Nike, and Adidas have their own retail outlet on the second floor as well. This year, a 35-feet tall Christmas tree greets its shoppers at the main atrium that highlights the Yuletide spirit.

How to get to Robinsons Place Bacolod: If you are near Burgos Public Market or West Negros University, take a Fortune Towne-Central Market PUV bound west and get off at the corner of Burgos-Lacson Street or Mercury Drug in front of the Regional Hospital. Then take a Bata-Libertad jeepney bound north then ask the driver to drop you off at Robinson’s overpass. Cross the street using the overpass to reach the main entrance of Robinsons Place Bacolod.
