At the beginning of the year, people want to try something new, to discover and tick off untried things on their list. And in Bacolod you will find something new as early as now, as newly opened stores this 2020 innovate the food scene and leisure activities for the Hiligaynon community. In this list are a Korean food attraction, a Japanese clothing brand, a modern Filipino restaurant, a Taiwanese milk tea store, and a relaxing spa that recently opened in the City of Smiles. These newly opened stores for 2020 are only some of the most exciting developments that the city has to offer. If you’re curious about these new points of interest in Bacolod, scroll down!

1. Samgyupsal Chango

Operating between two schools along La Salle Avenue, Samgyupsal Chango is one of the newly opened restaurants in the city. Bacolodnons are known for being foodies, so it’s not surprising that the Korean food culture has become a hit among the locals. Samgyeopsal is a popular Korean cuisine in which the diners grill slices of meat at the table, including a variety of side dishes like bean sprouts, pechay (Chinese cabbage), kimchi (spicy pickled cabbage), and more.

Other than having unlimited Samgyeopsal and Korean barbeque, Samgyupsal Chango has a different concept. Instead of customers grilling their own food, the restaurant’s cook does it for them and the pork is brought to their tables. Customers get to dine without inhaling the smoke since it is an open restaurant.

How to get to Samgyupsal Chango: Get on an Eroreco-Central Market PUV along Burgos Public Market. Then, get off at Samgyupsal Chango beside Quan Restaurant located along La Salle Avenue. Once you get off, cross the street to reach the entrance of Samgyupsal Chango.

2. Uniqlo Ayala Malls Capitol Central

Where: Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City

Japanese global retailer Uniqlo has opened its 60th store in the Philippines and 8th in the Visayas, in Ayala Mall Capitol Central. The international brand’s reputation has significantly grown as people continue to love the quality, simplicity, and the innovation of its clothing products. If fashionistas like you love casual and affordable wear, then this brand should occupy your wardrobe. This is the second branch of Uniqlo in Bacolod, the first being in SM City Bacolod. Since most of the consumers in the city are young, the brand believes that this clothing line will receive a warm reception from the community.

How to get to Ayala Malls Capitol Central: Hop on a Bata-Libertad jeepney if you are at the North Ceres Terminal. Tell the driver that you have to get off at the main entrance of Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
