In Bacolod City, healthcare workers in medical facilities have been immunized against COVID-19 following the arrival of the doses of the vaccine in Bacolod. Now that the priority group of health workers has been inoculated, the city government is preparing for the next subgroup—its residents.

The next challenge of the city government is now urging its constituents to register to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Bacolod. Last month, Mayor Evelio Leonardia launched the COVID-19 electronic immunization registry (CEIR) as part of the city’s vaccination roadmap. Bacolodnons who want to be part of the next priority list for vaccination can register at this link:

Meanwhile, residents who cannot undergo online registration can sign up through their respective barangays. The mayor also urged village chiefs to identify and determine the total number of residents who want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. He also reminded them not to include those who are below 18 years old as they are not beneficiaries of the vaccine.

When filling out the registration form, these are the necessary pieces of information that Bacolodnons should provide:

• Complete name
• Contact number
• Complete address
• Sex
• Date of Birth
• Civil Status
• Employment Status
• Direct interaction with COVID-19 patient (YES or NO)
• Profession
• Name of employer
• Address of employer
• Contact number of employer
• Pregnancy Status
• Allergies
• Covid-19 status (if applicable)

Bacolod City targets 68 percent of the city’s population to be vaccinated against the virus. In addition to the priority group comprising health care workers, persons falling under any of the following groups are also qualified to get the vaccine next:

• Senior citizens
• Indigents
• Military and uniformed personnel
• Other frontline workers
• People with special needs

Meanwhile, some business players in the city have also agreed to shoulder the payment for their employees’ vaccines.
