WEATHER ADVISORY

Thunderstorms are expected during the duration of the week. Outdoor trips should be scheduled in the morning as thunderstorms are more likely to come in the afternoon. It is advisable to bring an umbrella and a jacket.


TRAFFIC NEWS


Traffic is generally light in Vigan City but may turn heavy every just before 8:00 AM and right after 5:00 PM as these are the start and end of office and school hours respectively.

Several streets such as Quezon Avenue and parallel streets follow a one-way scheme from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Travelers and motorists can be guided by the signs at street corners.

There may be many steps but the view on top will be worth it.

A visit to Shrine of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad and its belfry known as Bantay Bell Tower may be done early in the morning as it tends to be hot and humid in the afternoon, if not with thunderstorms. Beside the bell tower, another sight to see is the Chapel by the Ruins which is also just beside the main Church.

The dancing fountain in Vigan City is the biggest in the country.

Meanwhile, one of the attractions in Vigan during nighttime is the Dancing Fountain. It has shows every night with one show at 7:30 PM on weekdays and two shows at 7:30 and 8:30 PM on weekends.

One of the dwarf horses at Baluarte Zoo

Early this year, the Baluarte Zoo has added kangaroos to its wide range of animals freely roaming around the area. An animal show is slated every 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. During the animal show, guests are encouraged to hold one of the animals if they want to.

At the top area of the zoo is the Safari Gallery. The entrance is free but for those who want to ride the shuttle, a fee of PhP50 per person is collected. It is located at Brgy. Salindeg, Vigan City, about 10 minutes away from the city proper.
