It all started with a dream.
Dr. Henry Chusuey, a Chinese Filipino Ilongo, brought her wife to Boracay for a vacation in the 1990s. The plan then was to build a vacation house. The couple fell in love with what they called a paradise, with pristine white sand and a clear blue sea.
Thus, the idea of building a hotel was born. Dr. Chusuey then formed his own company, which he named Henann, or a combination of the couple's names (Henry and Anna Lisa). Some 25 years later, the company became a giant because it expanded hotels at the different premier tourism sites all over the Philippines. The Henann Group of Resorts has around 1,700 rooms in Boracay and Bohol. The company plans to build more hotels in various tourist sites such as Mactan, Cebu, Coron, and Malcapuyo Island in Palawan.
