The City Government of Mandaue has implemented an ordinance which prohibits motorcycle drivers from wearing full-face tinted visors [1], face masks and other garments which cover the face. The Mandaue City Council has approved and implemented Ordinance 14-2017-1251 after a spate of shooting incidents which involved riding-in-tandem motorists. This means that motorcycle drivers have to lift the face shields of their helmets when passing through Mandaue [2]. Motorists who violate the ordinance will pay a PhP5,000 penalty. Apprehended motorists who don’t settle the penalty will also face criminal charges. On the other hand, those who do not wear the prescribed helmet will be given a PhP500 citation ticket. The Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team) has advised the public that only full-face and half-face helmets are allowed. Shangyang helmets, bike helmets, and nutshell helmets are not allowed.
