Local Areas in Cebu under Alert Level 1; Entire Province under Level 2
Seven areas in Cebu province remains under COVID-19 Alert Level 1 status.

Effective until June 15, 7 areas in Cebu Province shall retain the Alert Level 1 status, local health authorities declare.
These seven areas in Cebu under Alert Level 1 include Talisay City and the towns of Alcoy, Borbon, Oslob, Pilar, Santander, and Tudela, as Cebu COVID cases remain manageable. The localities above in Cebu Province are announced to retain the lowest alert level classification, with these localities also previously downgraded to Alert Level 1.
Chief Pathologist of the Department of Health in Central Visayas DOH-7, Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, said that local government units (LGUs) shall remain under Alert Level 1 unless announced to be escalated.
The Alert Level 1 classification is also extended until June 15 in Cebu province’s main cities, namely Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, and Mandaue, as recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-MEID).
Loreche also clarified that the 7 areas mentioned were not included in the latest announcement; hence, the notice that these localized areas shall maintain the lowest alert level classification along with Cebu’s three main cities.
Except for the 3 main cities and seven local areas, the rest of the Cebu province shall stay under Alert Level 2, effective until June 15.
No other localized area in Cebu province shall be de-escalated to the lowest alert level classification status. These areas still haven’t reached the target vaccination rate for total individuals eligible for vaccination, senior citizens, or both, as Loreche added.
Other component cities in Western Visayas placed under Alert Level 1 shall maintain their respective alert level classification for the rest of the month unless announcements of escalation of alert level status from the authorized sectors.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) orders all LGUs to be consistent in implementing vaccination strategies and be active in persuading the public. It is to have their booster doses and for the unvaccinated individuals to be followed up with getting their jabs, especially now that another Omicron subvariant has been detected in the country.
RT-PCR test requirement for boosted travelers scrapped in Cebu
Fully vaccinated travelers with at least one booster shot dose bound to Cebu shall no longer be required to comply with a negative rapid antigen test or a negative RT-PCR test upon entry into Cebu province. It is announced by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia last May 31.
The new policy applies to both foreign and local travelers going to Cebu.
Foreign travelers, however, will still need to present legitimate proof of vaccination with due permission from the IATF-MEID. These foreign travelers should also show their passports valid for at least six months from arrival. They should also present valid plane tickets to return to their point of origin not more than 30 days upon arrival in the Philippines.
On the other hand, those travelers who are fully vaccinated but without booster shots, unvaccinated, or partially vaccinated will need to comply with a negative rapid antigen test or a negative RT-PCR test result. Additionally, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers will have to submit to a swab test upon arrival and undergo a facility-based quarantine until their second RT-PCR test result is released, taken during the fifth day of quarantine.
Domestic flights are slowly recovering, while international flights are still getting there.
The whole province of Cebu is classified under a stricter Alert Level 2, except for the seven localities and three main cities aforementioned.
