Lite Ferries Shipping Corporation sails bigger, faster, and better as the shipping service launches a new roll-on-roll-off (RoRo) ferry to cater to Cebu and Bohol passengers and nearby Visayan areas to boost maritime tourism.

The newly-launched Lite Shipping ferry is part of the freight company’s re-fleeting program.

The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) announced recently that the new RoRo ferry service of Lite Shipping aims to boost maritime tourism and provide more shipping services in Visayas areas, especially between Cebu and Bohol.

Lite Ferries Shipping Corporation launched the MV Lite Ferry Seven during their event in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. This new RoRo ferry can carry a capacity of 18 ten-wheeler trucks, 10 cars, and 300 passengers. The new ferry was completed in 2022 and was built in China, offering standard and tourist accommodations classified by RINA of Italy.

With this recent Lite Shipping Corporation fleet expansion, MARINA granted pioneering status to MV Lite Ferry Seven in the Oslob, Cebu to Dapitan City, and Dipolog City routes.

MARINA supports this launch as it aims to bolster maritime tourism through Lite Ferries Shipping Corporation in connecting the island of Bohol to the rest of the country.

According to Hernani Fabia, MARINA Administrator, the launch of Lite Shipping's ferry in Tagbilaran, Bohol, symbolizes the milestone of Tagbilaran’s continuous growth as a tourist destination in Bohol. Fabia also said that the MARINA pours out their support towards creating a solid foundation through the Maritime Industry Development Plan towards further developing maritime tourism in the Philippines.

The launch of the MV Lite Ferry Seven is Lite Ferries Shipping Corporation's demonstration of its commitment to expanding its services and bringing provinces closer in support of the growth of the tourism industry in the country.

Lite Shipping Corporation is responsible for routes in 32 destinations, bridging the provinces of Sorsogon, Samar, Northern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Siquijor, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, and Zamboanga del Norte as part of the Strong Republic Nautical Highway.
