Time flies so fast. It’s the end of the month once again and we’re nearly half the year through. Some of you must be having the time of your life by the beach, and enjoying the rest of the summer. Others must be getting ready to go back to school or work. Nevertheless, we advise you to seize the rest of the month and get yourself pampered and watch the latest shows in Metro Manila.

A young nurse is tasked to bring a young heir back to the world.


Set in 1950s, Tuscany, Voice from the Stone follows the story of Verena (Emilia Clarke), a young nurse who is determined to bring back Jakob’s (Edward Dring) speaking ability. As Verena examines the boy, the more she gets convinced that he is under a magic spell that hides within the castle’s walls. She finds herself submerged into the castle’s hidden secrets that rapidly involve her own persona.

This suspense thriller is based on the award-winning novel, La Voce Della Pietra by Silvio Raffo.

A single mother sends her son to college in Manila which will start a twist in their mother-son relationship.


1st Sem is finally having a nationwide release after being shown at the CineFilipino Film Festival in 2016. Lotlot de Leon plays the very supportive mother of a son (Darwin Yu) who is sent to Manila to study in college. After experiencing separation anxiety, the mother finds him home with no interest of pushing through his college education. This turn of event starts the squabble within the family and will eventually burst with drama through comedic punch lines.

A labandera (laundry woman) and her young sister struggle to make their dreams come true in a world where foreign beauties are more favored.


Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady: The Musical shares a story of a humble labandera (laundry woman), Mely, and her young sister, Viva, who both yearn very muchto reachi their dreams. In a world where foreign, white-skinned superheroes and well-educated barako (hunk) men are given more opportunity, finding a space for them seems impossible.

But as Mely gets a job in Fuwerza Filipinas, she will have to face unique challenges for her family. And whilst the ongoing war in Fuwerza Filipinas between the superheroes and Kayumanggilas, the supervillains, Mely and Viva’s relationships will become complicated brought about by an unsettled past.

This fun-filled Carlo Vergara creation is revamped by the Ateneo Blue Repertory flavored with millennial’s imagination and creativity.

Words Anonymous turns three!


Words Anonymous, one of the famous Spoken Word groups in the Philippines, is celebrating their third year anniversary on April 29 at PETA Theater. The show is dedicated to those who helped them throughout their spoken word journey, as well as to those who claimed that they related what they wrote and performed. Tickets are priced at PhP500.

Southeast Asia’s largest metal festival is set to happen on April 29 with an exciting line-up.


Pulp Summer Slam 17: Redemption is exciting the rock music fans this year with a breathtaking line-up of local and international bands. With MEGADETH headlining this year, over 30, 000 attendees are expected to show up this year. Likewise, local headliners are composed of the Philippines’ three kings of heavy rock: WilaBaliW, Greyhoundz and Slapshock. Dragonforce and Crossfaith, two bands from the remarkable 13th and 14th instalment, are set to come back to the Philippines for the event. Some of the international acts include White Chapel, I See Stars, and Gods of Eden among others.

Forty beautiful ladies vying for the title in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas are set to grace the stage with their charm, elegance and wit. The chosen queens will compete for Miss Universe 2017, Miss International 2017, Miss Supranational 2017, Miss Intercontinental 2017, Miss Grand International 2017, and The Miss Globe 2017 along with other international candidates. The historic win of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach makes it a more challenging journey for the incoming beauty queen. The most recent Miss Universe pageant was held in the Philippines.
