Even before the previous year ended, there were already tons of concert announcements for the year 2018 that made music fans excited. Besides the already sold-out 24K Magic Tour of Bruno Mars and Paramore’s fourth tour, the impressive roster of artists for 2018 are bound to bring out incredible musical experiences for their fans. Here are ten of the most anticipated concerts in the Philippines this 2018.


1. Foster The People’s Sacred Hearts Tour

When: January 26

It took five years for indie pop band Foster The People to return to Philippine shores ever since their debut album Torches. Foster the People made waves back in 2011 with their song “Pumped Up Kicks” and “Helena Beat.” Much to the delight of their fans, this year the group is going on their Sacred Hearts Club tour to promote their album of the same name.

How to get to the Kia Theater: Ride the LRT-2 and drop off at the Araneta Center-Cubao station. Take the East Exit and walk along Aurora Boulevard. Turn right to the Gen. Aguinaldo Avenue. You will see Kia Theatre on the left.


2. The XX’s “I See You” Tour

When: February 7
Where: World Trade Center Manila

Another indie band that will return to the country after several years is The XX. The British trio gained a following because of their unique minimalist sound paired with smooth vocals. The group has just released their third studio album entitled “I See You”, which is also the name of their tour. The band was last in the Philippines in 2013, when they had a sold-out show at the NBC tent.

How to get to the World Trade Center: Ride the LRT-1 and get off at Gil Puyat Station. Ride a shuttle going to SM Mall of Asia. Ask the driver to drop you off at World Trade Center.


3. Incubus

When: February 17

Since Valentine’s Day would fall on a weekday this year, Incubus’ February 17 show can be an alternative date for fans of the band. The concert, which also serves as promotion of their album 8, would be the band’s third show in Manila.

The band will perform some of their classic songs like “Megalomaniac”, “Drive”, “Are You In”, and “Wish You Were Here”, along with new singles from their new album.

4. Fifth Harmony’s PSA Tour

The departure of Camila Cabello did not distract the girls of Fifth Harmony from releasing new hits. With the Manila leg of the group’s PSA tour happening in March, Filipino Harmonizers can sing along with Lauren, Dinah, Ally, and Normani as the girls belt out their new and old songs such as “Work From Home,” “Worth It,” and “Sledgehammer.”

5. John Legend’s Darkness and Light Tour

Back in 2014, Grammy Award winner and multi-platinum singer-songwriter John Legend serenaded his Filipino fans at his sold-out show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Now, those who did not get a glimpse of the Legend can watch his comeback in March.

Besides the ballad love song “All Of Me,” Legend is also known for his songs “Ordinary People,” “Green Light,” “Save Room,” and “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).”

Katy Cats will get to hear Katy Perry roar on April. Concert-goers will get to experience the trademark of a Katy Perry show which includes colorful visuals, sets, eye-popping effects, and Perry’s powerful vocal chops.

Some of Perry’s most popular songs include “Teenage Dream,” “Hot and Cold,” “Thinking of You,” “Dark Horse,” and “The One That Got Away.” Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

Almost every millennial at some point must have listened to some of the popular melancholic songs of The Script when going through a heartbreak, but heartbreaks are not necessary to enjoy the band’s fourth show in the country this April.

Directioners would have to do double duty this year! Two of One Direction’s previous members would be performing at the Mall of Asia Arena this year. First to go to the Philippines is Harry Styles, who will promote his debut album on his tour. The self-titled album features the song “Sign of the Times,” which gained positions in local hit charts.

9. Niall Horan

Following Harry Styles’ show would be the Flicker World Tour of Niall Horan. Horan gained radio plays through his sensual and upbeat song “Slow Hands.” The Flicker World Tour would be Horan’s first-ever solo world tour ever since his break from One Direction.

10. Zedd

Electronic Dance Music (EDM) DJ Zedd will make the attendees of his April 13 concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum bang their heads along to the infectious beats of his songs “Clarity,” “Find You,” and “I Want You to Know.”

Zedd previously visited the country last September 2017 for the Road To Ultra Philippines event, in which he is one of the main acts.
