Despite the constant problem with traffic, Manila is a beautiful place to tour around during the day with its breathtaking sceneries and fantastic landscapes. But that’s not all it has to offer. At night, the city transforms into something more vibrant and alive because of the exciting nightlife activities happening all over the metro area, one of which are live shows at local nightclubs or bars.

If you are currently in Metro Manila and are wondering what show you can catch, read on. This article serves as a guide to notable performers who will grace local nightclubs and bars in the following months.

1. South Border

Where: 12 Monkeys, Ortigas

The men of Filipino RnB group South Border are blessed with some of the smoothest and coolest voices in the country. Jay Durias, Kell Gatdula, and the rest of the group have been performing for the Filipino audience since 1993. As South Border, they have released numerous hits that are considered classics such as “Rainbow,” “Ikaw Nga” (It’s You), “Love of My Life,” and “Kahit Kailan” (Whenever).

For an exciting night, you can groove along to the powerful and energetic songs of Kaskade. Ryan Gary Raddon, better known as Kaskade, is one of the most influential DJs in the world—he actually has been DJing since 1995! In the span of his career, he has produced countless hits including “Eyes,” “Move for Me,” “Turn it Down,” and “It’s You, It’s Me.” Kaskade last visited the country in 2014 when he performed in Clark Pampanga.

How to get to Cove: There are free Okada Manila shuttle rides at several pick-up points like SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall. Just bring a valid photo ID. The shuttle schedule varies, and it can be viewed at Okada’s website.

Those who are updated on pop culture might find Diplo’s name familiar since he dated pop diva Katy Perry back in 2014. However, this is not the only thing the 38-year-old DJ is known for. Diplo has made a name for himself in the electronic dance music (EDM) industry for his futuristic sound and he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Madonna, and Beyonce.

4. Freestyle

Even though Valentine’s Day is already over, Freestyle’s heartfelt songs can make anyone feel in love again. Anyone who wants to take a break from the heavy sounds of electronic music can find their sanctuary in the calm acoustic sound of Freestyle.

Their notable hits tackle various themes about love, from heartbreaks to being in love. Some of the most popular songs in their discography include “Before I Let You Go,” “So Slow,” “This Time,” and their rendition of Ogie Alcasid’s “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang?” (Why Did I Only Meet You Now?).

5. Brownman Revival

Reggae is still much alive in the country with the help of Brownman Revival. Although the genre is not quite popular as compared to pop, rock, and RnB, the group managed to birth more Pinoy reggae fans when they released their own version of Eraserhead’s “Maling Akala” (Wrong Assumption) in 2005. The nine-member group led by its vocalist, Dennis Concepcion, continues to promote the genre made popular by the legendary Bob Marley.

How to get to 70s Bistro: Take the LRT-2 then get off at Anonas Station. Walk towards the nearby McDonald’s then ride a tricycle or jeepney and ask the driver to drop you off at The 70s Bistro.
