It’s officially the start of September, and both good and bad news welcome the month. The bad news is that the weather might still be rainy, as thunderstorms are forecasted to occur during the afternoons of the whole week. But the good news for commuters and tourists alike is that there are additional trips for the Point-to-Point (P2P) Trinoma to Park Square route. Meanwhile, several Catholic churches in the city will celebrate the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary on September 8.

Weather: Generally sunny weather with chances of thunderstorms

The weather this week will be sunny with a little bit rain according to Accuweather. There’s a chance for thunderstorms to occur in the afternoons. On September 4, however, the skies are expected to be mostly cloudy with a possible thunderstorm in the afternoon. Temperature will also be consistently at 31 °C except on September 4 where the temperature is predicted to be 32 °C [1]. Bring an umbrella before leaving the house to use against the rain and jacket for the cold winds.

Traffic news: Additional bus added to P2P Trinoma to Park Square route

Five additional day trips are added to the Point-to-Point (P2P) Trinoma to Park Square route starting September 1. As announced in the P2P Facebook page, the additional trips will be possible through their VIP Neoplan Skyliner, which is the only unit of its type in Southeast Asia.

The one-way fare for the additional premium trips via the Skyliner would be PhP100. The bus would operate from Monday to Saturday and public holidays. The earliest departure from Trinoma would be at 6:00 AM and the latest would be at 10:00 PM. Meanwhile, the earliest trip from Park Square would start at 7:30 AM and the latest would be at 11:00 PM [2].

Tickets for Skyliner trips can only be bought with cash; Beep cards, monthly pass holders, round trip tickets, weekly pass holders, and other discounted fares will not be accepted. Seats are first come first serve basis.

MIAA announced no changes in terminal assignments in NAIA

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has debunked the news circulating in social media that there would be a terminal transfer for airlines. MIAA announced that the terminal assignment for airlines in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will remain the same while they are still in talks with airline operators who have intentions of transferring [3]. Philippine Airlines also released a statement on their Facebook page that there would be no terminal changes until further announcement [4].

Quiapo Church to hold procession all day

On September 8, devotees of Virgin Mary will head to major churches in Manila to celebrate the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. One of the popular churches that celebrate the occasion is Quiapo Church, and it has planned a whole-day celebration for the occasion [5]. Tourists who plan to visit the church or nearby areas should take note of the possible traffic due to the number of devotees who will attend the event. The church is also expected to be more crowded than usual.
