Metro Manila will come alive with the upcoming concerts of Westlife, LANY, and more!

July’s concert scene will be full of international artists.


The rainy season can be a bummer, but don’t let the weather stop you from having fun, especially when there are plenty of concerts in Metro Manila for July 2019. Despite the cold weather, the music scene is hot with upcoming concerts in the metro’s major theaters.

For a start, heat up your cool night with the soothing voices of Jesse McCartney and Daniel Caesar. If you want to sing your heart out, head to any of LANY’s three concerts. But if upbeat and high energy is what you’re into, go to Russ’s first Manila show. And if you’re a 90s kid feeling nostalgic, heads up: Westlife will be coming back for a two-day concert! 1. Jesse McCartney Live in Manila

When: July 13, 2019; 8:00 PM

Just so you know, Jesse McCartney will be finally having his first show in Manila. In case you need a refresher, Jesse McCartney was one of the original teen heartthrobs of the early 2000s. With his boyish good looks and charming voice, he captured the hearts of teenagers back in the day.



Even after more than a decade, Jesse’s songs like "Just So You Know," "Beautiful Soul," and "Leavin" remain to be pop culture gems. On his Manila show this July, Jesse will not only perform his classic hits but also the latest single from his 2018 album “J.M.a.C.”. Tickets are available at TicketNet outlets and TicketNet online.

Tip for a good experience: Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the venue, but food is available inside. If you don’t want to spend extra money on food, eat a heavy meal before the show.

How to get to New Frontier Theater: Ride either the LRT-2 or MRT-3 then alight at the Araneta Center Cubao Terminal Station. Exit the station then walk along Aurora Boulevard. From there, take a turn to General Aguinaldo Avenue on the right side. Turn left and you’ll see the New Frontier Theatre.



2. Daniel Caesar Live in Manila

When: July 23, 2019; 8:00 PM

Canada is home to some of the world’s most popular musicians, such as The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Shawn Mendes. In addition to the roster is Daniel Caesar, a Canadian artist who has been gaining the attention of music fans and critics. In fact, he has won a Grammy award for his song “Best Part” in the 2019 Grammy Awards.

After a stint at Wanderland Music Festival last year, Daniel will return to Manila on July 23 for first solo show in the country. Fans of the RnB and soul artist will get to hear his love songs such as “Get You,” “Japanese Denim,” “Best Part,” and “Blessed” live again. Tip for a good experience: If you’re coming from Gateway Mall, you can use the new bridgeway located at the second floor. It is connected to the second floor of the New Frontier Theater.

3. LANY: Malibu Night World Tour

With a charismatic vocalist and melodramatic lyrics, LANY captured the attention of young music lovers. The band also gained a following in the older generation, who found an appeal in their transcendent sound. LANY visited Manila in April of 2018, but fans love the band so much that they demanded for more shows. As an answer, LANY’s Malibu Night World Tour would happen for three consecutive nights in the metro.

Formed in 2014, the pop group has been consistently popular in the Philippines because of their catchy hits like “ILYSB,” “Super Far,” “Malibu Nights,” and “Thru These Tears.” Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.



Tip for a good experience: Since July is a rainy month, bring the necessary items for rain protection. If you get cold easily, bring a cardigan or jacket to keep you warm since it’s cold the inside the Mall of Asia Arena. Also avoid wearing clothes made from thin materials.

How to get to the Mall of Asia Arena: Ride the MRT-3 and alight at Taft Avenue Station. Exit the station and ride a jeepney or shuttle heading to SM Mall of Asia. Alight the jeepney at the Mall of Asia Complex. Walk to the eye-shaped building; that is the Mall of Asia Arena.


4. Russ Live in Manila

When: July 27, 2019; 8:00 PM
Where: New Frontier Theater, Araneta Center, General Mc Arthur Avenue, Quezon City

Russell Vitale—more known as Russ—made his way to the top of hip hop industry by uploading his own music on music-sharing platform Soundcloud. Because of his knack for writing lyrics, not to mention his production skills, Russ gained hundreds of thousands of fans and plays on Soundcloud.



Catch the “Missin You Crazy” and “Losing Control” singer in Manila this month. Other songs you can expect to be performed include “Ride Slow” and “Wife You Up.” Tickets are available at TicketNet outlets and TicketNet online.

Like Jesse McCartney, Westlife shaped the childhood of most young adults all over the world. As one of the biggest boy bands to ever exist, Westlife is a timeless group that continues to make music for their fans. Their impact on Filipino fans is so huge that they will be having two consecutive shows at the country.

With hits like “If I Let You Go,” “My Love,” “I Lay My Love on You,” and “Swear It Again,” the legacy of Westlife lives on for generations to come. Tickets are available at TicketNet outlets and TicketNet online.

Tip for a good experience: Since the venue only has a few bathrooms, prepare for long queues or try to pee before the show.



How to get to Smart Araneta Coliseum: Take an LRT-2 train and alight at the Araneta Center-Cubao Terminal Station. Exit the station and walk in the direction of Gateway Mall and pass through the red gate. Look for the dome-shaped building; it is the Araneta Coliseum. It is near Farmers Market.
