Metro Manila, travel, things to do, weather, sea games 2019

Preparations for the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) will be the main agenda this week since the Philippines will be the host of the SEA Games 2019, which will start on November 30. Since some of the venues will be in several parts of Metro Manila, motorists are advised to expect heavier traffic during the SEA Games. In other news, free Wifi has been installed by the Caloocan City government at the Caloocan City People’s Park. Read on for the full details.


Weather: Sunny to cloudy weather with small chances of rainfall


The last week of November will have generally pleasant sunny to cloudy weather, but light rain might fall on some afternoons. The day temperature will range from 30 °C to 32 °C. Make sure to wear sunscreen if you’re engaging in outdoor activities and to bring umbrellas for protection against UV rays and rainfall [1].


Traffic News: Expect heavier traffic around EDSA during the SEA Games


The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advises motorists to expect a heavier volume of vehicles during the SEA Games, especially in areas where sports centers that will be used for the SEA Games are located. Traffic disruptions and chokepoints for motorists are expected in the following places:



Northbound
• Taft Avenue
• Buendia
• Ayala
• Shaw Boulevard
• Megamall
• Santolan
• SM North
• Roxas Boulevard
• Balintawak
• Munoz

Southbound
• Balintawak
• Munoz
• SM North
• Cubao
• Santolan
• Ortigas
• Shaw Boulevard
• Boni Serrano
• Buendia corner Macapagal
• Ayala Magallanes
• Roxas Boulevard

Other affected areas include the following:
• South Luzon Expressway (SLEX)
• Mindanao Avenue - North Avenue to NLEX in Quezon City
• Adriatico RMSC Area
• Shaw Boulevard corner Pioneer
• Lawton Avenue corner Bayani Road
• Roxas Boulevard cor Buendia, P. Ocampo, and P. Burgos
• Taft Avenue cor P. Ocampo
• Quirino corner Adriatico
• N. Domingo - FilOil in San Juan City
