Fur parents! Light Rail Transit (LRT) 2, which runs from Antipolo to Recto in Manila, now allows fur babies inside the train.
Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) starts this love month with good news as they now
allow pets in LRT 2. Beginning February 1, Fur parents can bring their fur babies inside LRT 2 for free. However, only one dog or cat of a small size per passenger is allowed.
LRTA added that ‘big pets’ are not allowed as the trains get cramped sometimes, but the breed, height, length, width, or weight of what they may identify as ‘big pets’ are still unspecified.
Pets must wear diapers and be confined inside cages not exceeding two feet by two feet in size and should not occupy an extra seat on the train. Strollers for pets are not allowed. LRTA reminds fur parents to ensure that their fur babies are fully vaccinated and must present their pet’s vaccination card upon entry to the LRT 2 stations.
Feeding pets inside the
LRT 2 trains and stations is also prohibited. Fur parents and their babies are only allowed at the last and end couch of the train.
Fur parents are also reminded that LRTA may not accept the transport of pets that appear unruly, aggressive, distressed, in pain, and threathen to the health and security of other passengers.
Before this, in 2021, Metro Rail Transit Line 3 already allowed fur parents to bring their pets inside the train with the same measures.
Stay safe as you travel! Make sure to follow social distancing protocols and observe health precautions. For now, keep safe!
