1. Malcapuya Island

Malcapuya Island invites everyone to lay on its long stretch of white sand beach. Here in this Coron, Palawan resort, you can relax under the shade of swaying coconut trees while taking in the calming sea breeze. Snorkel around the island to see stunning coral gardens teeming with colorful fishes, or hike up a hill on the beach’s eastern side to get a panoramic view of the island circled by aquamarine waters. Malcapuya is a privately owned island located about 30 kilometers south of Coron town and is more than an hour of boat ride away. Since it’s remote and less-visited, you can enjoy the beach with just a few fellow tourists around.


2. Banana Island

Going to Banana Island is an adventure in itself as you have to hop on a large boat that can brave strong waves in the open sea. Banana Island, also known as Dicalabuan Island, boasts of a white sand beach on its northwestern part. This Coron beach and Palawan tourist spot awaits thriving marine life, which is best to see through snorkeling as Banana Island is usually a lunch stopover during tours, huts, and tables set up. After having a hearty afternoon feast, you can doze off on a hammock under the coconut trees or take advantage of the turquoise waters right in front of you. You could also stay overnight here if you want.


3. Bulog Dos Island

Bulog Dos Island is well-loved by beach bummers for its pristine white sand beach. In the local term, “bulog” means bald. Here you can sunbathe to get tanned or have a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear aquamarine waters. A few meters from the beach is a visual spectacle that leaves snorkelers in awe: vibrant corals sheltering playful fishes. The island also features rugged rock formations perfect for photo opportunities and a sandbar to stroll through Malaroyroy Peninsula. More than an hour away by boat from Coron town, Bulog Dos Island is part of a tour package that includes Malcapuya and Banana Islands.

Do not leave Coron without visiting the picture-perfect Banol Beach. Although it has a short stretch of sandy white beach, Banol Beach stands out thanks to its dramatic backdrop of limestone cliffs with clear water where you can have adventurous things to do when in Coron. As a popular lunch stop, you will find yourself here feasting on a sumptuous seafood lunch. The best part? You’ll eat in a hut overlooking turquoise waters. After getting your fill, free dive towards the far right end of Banol Beach to see the Skeleton Wreck, a Japanese ship sunk back to World War II. This eerily beautiful shipwreck now serves as a safe refuge for colorful fishes.


5. CYC Beach

If you’re looking for a beach with unparalleled surroundings, then CYC Beach is the place to be. CYC Beach also prides itself in having fine white sand and azure waters that would make you instantly feel the island life vibe. Its exciting rock formations and big mangrove trees add to its scenic setting. Not only that, but its underwater scenery is also a sight to see! But since some parts are rocky, it’s advised to wear aqua shoes. CYC Beach is located five kilometers southeast of Coron and sits near Uson Island, Dinanglet Island, and Coron Island.


6. Atwayan Beach

Atwayan Beach is one of the many white-sand beaches worth visiting in Coron. If you’re not particularly averse to crowds, you will surely love this touristy beach where you can mingle with other beach bums. After touring from island to island, boats flock to Atwayan’s shore for a lunch stopover. Guests are treated to a delicious seafood lunch prepared by the boat crew as part of a tour package. Aside from having a refreshing swim in the crystal clear turquoise waters, visitors can try out snorkeling and kayaking here. If you’re feeling drained physically and wanting to recharge, you can take a nap in a nipa hut.



7. San Jose Beach

Budget: PhP11,000-PhP29,200/person for a three-day, two-night stay

San Jose Beach offers a refreshing break from stressful city life.

You can have full access to San Jose Beach in Barangay San Jose when you stay in the posh El Rio Y Mar Resort. To get to the resort, you have to travel for 30 minutes by land from Coron town and take another 30-minute boat trip. Although the sand here isn’t as white as the other beaches in Coron, San Jose Beach offers a peaceful environment that would make you instantly forget all your worries once you’re settled. Other fun-filled activities you can try out when you’re here are beach volleyball, snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, bottom fishing, hiking, and many more.
