Palawan is recognized as the top tourist destination and most preferred travel spot in the recent PAHAYAG 2023 Second Quarter Survey, an independent survey on Philippine tourism conducted by The PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc., showing 23% of the respondents expressing their desire to visit Palawan island in the Philippines.

Baguio is also coming in on top, garnering 16%, placing second after Palawan in the top tourist destinations and spots in the Philippines.

As the survey indicates, Palawan is a top tourist destination that has ‘captured the hearts of many Filipinos’, showing how people desire to travel to Palawan. The island is famous locally and internationally because of its pristine beaches, crystal clear waters, beguiling caves, and many other natural wonders, all making up the beauty of Palawan as a famous top tourist destination.

The PAHAYAG 2023 Second Quarter Survey is a non-commissioned and independent survey conducted last June 7 to 12.

Many top tourist spots in the Philippines are also included in the survey.

Cebu landed in the third spot on the survey and Siargao on the fourth, with both sites garnering an equal 9%.

Aklan, the province home to the famous beach island of Boracay, is also on the list garnering 8% of the preference from the survey.

Another Philippine destination famous for its picturesque spots is Batanes, which got 6% of the survey respondents’ preference. Most people from North Central Luzon favored Batanes as a top tourist spot.

Also included among the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines in the survey are Bohol, garnering 4%, and Davao garnering 3% of the respondents picking these locations.

According to PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc., the campaign firm in charge of the travel satisfaction survey, the results reflect the Filipino’s diverse preferences and interests when choosing their most preferred travel destination.

The PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. said that the Department of Tourism (DOT) has reaffirmed its passion and commitment to showcasing the attractions and destinations of the Philippines, launching a new tagline, ‘LOVE the Philippines’.

The tagline, ‘LOVE the Philippines’, is all about celebrating the spirit of admiration for the rich natural resources and landscapes of the Philippines and the signature warm hospitality that the country is also genuinely proud of.

The survey has 1,500 respondents drawn randomly from a US-based panel market research of more than 200,000 Filipinos maintained by PureSpectrum. This is distributed across five geographical areas: the National Capital Region or NCR, North Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
