Beijing-based pharmaceutical company Sinovac is among the first companies in the world to develop a COVID-19 vaccine shot. The inactivated vaccine called CoronaVac, or popularly known as the Sinovac vaccine, works by killing viral particles in the body to lessen the risk of getting serious infections brought by COVID-19.

Sinovac is also one of the many vaccines available that made its way to the Philippines, specifically to Tagaytay. After a series of AstraZeneca vaccinations for medical frontliners, people with comorbidities in the city have been vaccinated with Sinovac. Registration for vaccination in Tagaytay is currently open. If you’re one of those people who wish to get inoculated, read on and find out the steps you need to take and documents you need to prepare for your registration for Vaccination in Tagaytay.

Tagaytay is now accepting qualified patients for COVID-19 vaccination

The City Government of Tagaytay reopened the registration for its residents under the A3 category after a series of vaccinations with AstraZeneca vaccines for medical frontliners and Sinovac vaccines for people with comorbidities at the Tagaytay International Convention Center on April 6.

People that fall under the A3 Category or the Adults with Comorbidities are those aged 18 to 59 years old and have the following medical conditions:

- Cardiovascular diseases
- Chronic kidney diseases
- Malignancy, cancer, or tumor
- Cerebrovascular diseases

- Immunodeficiency (HIV, lupus, and the like)

Those who wish to get the vaccine must fill out the registration form for the A3 category found on the City Government of Tagaytay’s official Facebook page. The questionnaire will require their PhilHealth number and personal information. It will also ask the patients if they are allergic to any kind of medicine, what their comorbidity/ies is/are, what medications they are currently taking, and if they are willing to be vaccinated.

A valid ID and any of the following documents are also needed for validation:

- Medical certificate issued within 18 months (those with autoimmune diseases are required to get a medical clearance from their doctor)
- Medical prescription for the past 6 months
- Hospital records
- Surgical records or pathology records

Online registration for senior citizens who wish to be inoculated is also ongoing. The registration form can also be found on the City Government of Tagaytay’s official Facebook page.
