The South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) is set to unveil its expanded six-by-six lane configuration this December, just in time for the holiday rush. The SLEX expansion project, which adds two lanes on northbound and southbound sides from Susanna Heights, Muntinlupa, to Calamba, Laguna, spans 29 kilometers and aims to ease traffic during the busiest travel season.
Motorists can look forward to a smoother and faster drive as the additional lanes are expected to reduce congestion significantly—meanwhile, the section from Calamba to Sto. Tomas, Batangas, including upgrading around 20 bridges along the route, is targeted for completion by mid-2025.
Beyond improving travel, the new SLEX 6X6 expansion project supports economic growth in Southern Luzon, connecting communities and businesses as the primary link between Metro Manila and the CALABARZON region.
The SLEX 6X6 Expansion project also includes removing outdated toll plazas and enhancing the expressway’s seamless tolling system, further streamlining travel.
Following the second phase of toll adjustments introduced in August this year, the toll fee for the new lanes will remain the same as the rates of the existing lanes.
