Cases
As of the
COVID-19 update on March 31, 2020, 8:00 AM, Batangas has recorded 30 cases of COVID-19. According to the Department of Health data shared by the Batangas Public Information Office, the province currently has 296 people under investigation, 12,269 people under monitoring, and 2 deceased. Areas of Batangas with COVID-19 patients are as follows: Batangas City, Nasugbu, Alitagtag, Padre Garcia, Mabini, Lipa City, Tanauan City, Santo Tomas, Lemery, and Lian.
Safety Measures
To comply with the safety precautions being done in order to fight the global pandemic, Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas issued a quarantine advisory for his province. Some of the measures taken include the suspension of classes, mass gatherings, and all religious activities, transportation, and tourism. The People’s Day celebration which is held every Friday will also be temporarily suspended to prioritize the public’s health and safety.
