Boracay employs some changes to suit southwest monsoon.

LOCAL NEWS

Alternative Ports

Ports used during rainy season are now open.

Due to habagat or southwest monsoon, Tabon Port in Caticlan and Tambisaan Port in Boracay are again operational. During inclement weather, boat travel from Caticlan Port and Cagban is transferred to these ports. Tourists are still required to pay the same environmental fee and terminal fee on the said alternative ports.

Some banks are now open even on Sundays.

Philippine National Bank in Station 1 is now also operating during Sundays in Boracay. Its other branch, which is located in Station 2, meanwhile, is open on Saturdays but closed on Sundays. Both branches are open during weekdays.

Aside from PNB, Metrobank, also with two branches in the island, operates during the weekend. Other big banks operating in the island like the Bank of the Philippine Islands and Banco de Oro operate until Saturdays only.


BEACH RESORTS

Water sports activities are now at Bulabog Beach.

Due to the habagat season, water sports activities are now done at Bulabog Beach instead of the White Beach where most water activities during November to May are done. Water is mostly calm at the White Beach during the said months while it is reversed during the rainy season. Boats for island hopping activities are also docked at Bulabog beach so the activity starts from there.


WEATHER

A gloomy weather is expected throughout the week. Thunderstorms will be expected on June 19 and 20, some sunshine on June 21, and then cloudy skies again from June 22 until June 25.

Father’s Day in Boracay

In celebration of the Father’s Day, resorts, restaurants and bars offer treats for the man of the family.

The District’s Upperhouse Spa

This whole month of June, The District Boracay will also give free spa treatment for their guests who are certified fathers. The father of the family can get free treatment at the resort’s Upperhouse Spa. The resort is situated at the beachfront in Station 2.

From June 17 to 20, Star Lounge will give father’s one round of drink for every steak they order from the restaurant’s From-the-Grill menu. Star Lounge is the in-house restaurant of The District Boracay.


Boracay Bars

New location and new activity

Cocomangas Bar, a famous shooter bar and party place in Station 1 has transferred to its new location in Station 2. The bar is located specifically at Zone 4, Bulabog Road and now has a grocery, money changer, and lounge area.

On June 22, Fusion Sports Bar and Swingers Club will show a live telecast of the Game 2 of the 2016 Holden State of Origin, an international rugby event. The sports bar will offer a special menu during the event. It will also conduct beer pong and pool tournaments after the game.


FESTIVAL

Mataca Religious Fiesta

Barangay Manoc-Manoc is celebrating its Mataca Religious Fiesta on June 24. On the eve of the occasion, June 23, a band contest dubbed Tugtugan sa San Juan will happen at Sitio Angol Plaza in Station 3. The event is line with the religious fiesta of the place.
