It can be sad to think tht the fun is over, but 2020 is brimming with engaging events and shows that will make you feel better. For one, there are various events in Metro Manila this January 2020 where you can have fun! 1. Silverstein 20 Year Anniversary in Manila

When: January 12, 2020; 8:00 PM
Where: SM City North EDSA Skydome

Silverstein starts their 2020 by celebrating their 20th anniversary.

Canadian emo and post-hardcore band Silverstein will be kicking off their 20th anniversary with their Filipino fans this month. This January concert will be the band’s first show in Manila after 8 years. Silverstein is known for their songs “My Heroine,” “Smile in Your Sleep,” and “Call It Karma.” Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

How to get to SM SkyDome: Ride any MRT-3 then get off at the North Avenue Station. Since the station is directly linked to Trinoma, you can use the connecting bridge way between Trinoma and SM North EDSA. The SM Skydome is the visible dome-shaped building at the area.



2. Jokoy: Just Kidding World Tour

Bringing his world-famous stand-up comedy this month is Filipino-American Jo Koy who is known for drawing on his Filipino roots as inspiration for his jokes. He will have two shows in the country: one in Cebu on January 14 and another in Manila on January 15. Some of his previous comedy shows such as “Jo Koy: Comin’ In Hot” and “Jo Koy: Live from Seattle” can be streamed on Netflix. Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

How to get to Mall of Asia Arena: Ride the MRT-3 up to Taft Avenue Station. Exit the station and look for a jeepney or shuttle heading to SM Mall of Asia. Alight the jeepney at the Mall of Asia Complex. The eye-shaped building is the Mall of Asia Arena.


3. Winner Cross Tour in Manila

Already craving for some K-pop? You're in luck because Korean group Winner is coming back to Manila! The quartet, composed of Hoony, Mino, Yoon, and Jinu has been in Manila multiple times. Their first major concert in the country was last November 2018. Several of their songs include “Empty,” “Color Ring,” and “Love Me Love Me.” Tickets to the show are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

How to go to Quirino Grandstand: Ride the LRT-1 to United Nations Station. Exit the station and walk towards T.M Kalaw, which is also Rizal Park. Turn towards Manila Bay and walk until you reach Roxas Boulevard. Look for Orosa Street and the National Library. Cross Roxas Boulevard and walk through South Drive behind the Rizal Park. From there, you will see Quirino Grandstand immediately.



5. 90s Frontmen Acousticized

When: January 31, 2020; 8:00 PM
Where: Music Museum , Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City

This will be the first show where four of the ‘90s iconic frontmen will be performing together.

Although we are now in the ‘20s, it is undeniable that the 90s still has a special place in everyone’s hearts—especially for OPM fans. And this event is for them. The ‘90s Frontmen Acousticized will bring together four of the ‘90s legendary vocalists: Jett Pangan (The Dawn,) Dong Abay (Yano,) Basti Artadi (Wolfgang,) and Wency Cornejo (AfterImage).

How to get to Music Museum: Take the MRT-3 up to the Ortigas Station. Walk towards Robinson’s Galleria and ride a jeep heading to San Juan or any RRCG/G Liner bus en route to Quaipo. Get off at Greenhills Shopping Center. Walk pass Shoppesville and look for the Promenade Mall. Music Museum is the green building in the complex.
