Sky is clear at The Ruins Garden, Bacolod City

An average of a high 35°C to 36°C during day time is expected for the entire week. Abundant sunshine will be experienced from Monday to Thursday although thunderstorms may be expected on Thursday up to Friday. Bacolod will also have a couple of rainshowers on Saturday and Sunday.


ELECTION NEWS

Thousands of supporters and volunteers are expected to gather as Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) standard bearers Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano will hold a grand rally at the Bacolod City Public Plaza, 4:00 PM on April 18, 2016. This is the second time around that the PDP-Laban tandem will be visiting the city.

Road closures along the venue and traffic congestions are expected near downtown areas, particularly Lacson St., Rizal St., Gatuslao St.

Panaad sa Negros Festival, considered as the festival of all festivals in Negros, is celebrating its 23rd year this April 15 to 22, 2016 with the theme, “Showcasing our Island’s Sweet Surprises.” It is a week-long celebration bursting with dynamic festival dances all around the province, trade fairs and exhibits, agri-fest, Eco-garden show, forums and seminars, a showcase of Kultura Negrosanon, the highly-anticipated folk dance and drums & lyre competitions, fireworks display, and the exquisite Lin-ay Sang Negros Pageant.

The festival aims to promote the fullness of Negros Island—from culinary to culture, festivals and attractions, and the breadth of tourism, all in one place. The Panaad sa Negros Festival will take place at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Bacolod City.


Pagbanaag Festival

Meanwhile, on the other side of the island, the Municipality of Hinobaan is celebrating its 16th Pagbanaag Festival on April 20 to 24, 2016. “Pagbanaag”portrays the opitism of the Hinoba-ans amidst struggles and challenges through faith, unity, and cooperation.

Tourists can expect white sand beaches, non-stop disco, merry making ‘til dawn, a life away from the city, nature, and friendly locals in this municipality.

Aida’s Chicken’s Pechopack Chicken Inasal

Bacolod Chicken Inasal is not only Bacolod’s favorite but also the most-wanted, must-try eat for tourists visiting the island. Dubbed as the tastiest chicken inasal in the country, it is marinated with herbs and spices paired with dipping sauce made up of calamansi, langgaw/sinamak (vinegar), and a few drops of toyo (soy sauce). The famous grilled chicken can be found all over the strip of Manokan Country, Chicken Deli, Masskara Chicken, Chicken House, and many other local diners.
