This year, the implementation of the second tranche of the excise tax is expected to take effect. More business owners fear that the fuel price increase will also affect the prices of goods and services.
According to Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Director Frank Carbon, diesel price had increased up to P4 per liter since January 15.
Carbon also mentioned that the fuel price hike in some gasoline companies started last January 14 at the average of P2 per liter. Once the implementation of the additional excise tax continues, diesel price will increase up to P4.50 per liter and P3.50 per liter for the gasoline price. [5].
