What better environment to meet potential friends with the same interests than a concert or live show? It’s a good thing there are various events and concerts in Bacolod this January 2019 where you can meet new people and spark new beginnings!

1. YG Begins

When: January 5, 2019
Where: MO2 Superclub Bacolod

Start your year with a bang in this Black and White Club Party. The party will showcase the music of some of Korea’s most popular and well-respected artists, so get ready to dance along to songs from 2NE1, BIGBANG, JINUSEAN, and 1TYM.




This party will benefit rescued dogs at PAWSsion Project and will welcome people of all ages, whether or not they’re fans of Kpop. Attendees also have the chance to win a Black Pink hammer bong.

How to get to MO2 Superclub Bacolod: From the downtown area, ride any public utility vehicle plying the Alijis route and ask the driver to drop you off at City Mall Goldenfield. Once there, cross the street and walk a few steps to reach the club.

Tip: Don’t be a wallflower! Socialize to meet a fellow fan in the party.




2. Mayonnaise Live in Bacolod

When: January 11, 2019; 7:00 PM
Where: Negros Occidental Multi Purpose Activity Center

Love OPM? Here’s an early treat: Mayonnaise will perform live in Bacolod this January 11, 7:00 PM at Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center. Mayonnaise is famous for winning the renowned “Red Horse Muziklaban” competition in 2004 and has been in the music industry for 17 years.

You can buy your early bird tickets at Swivel Lifestyle Lounge, Onsé Coffee + Art, Zeal Text Trading, BJC Bacolod Jerk Chicken, and Black Tag Apparel and Accessories. The first 10 to buy early bird tickets will have a chance to meet the band in person and get a free CD.

How to get to the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center: From the streets of Lacson, you can ride a public utility vehicle bound for Bata and ask to be dropped off at the side entrance of Lagoon. Once there, walk a few steps and you will immediately see the gym. Meanwhile, if you are coming from Libertad or the downtown area, you can ride a vehicle to Mandalagan and ask to be dropped off at the side entrance of Lagoon. Once there, cross the street and walk a few steps to the gym.




Tip: Try to familiarize yourself beforehand with the songs of Mayonnaise so that you can sing along and enjoy the event better.


3. Kaisoo Day: "For a Lifetime: With You"

When: January 12, 2019
Where: Kapebro, Mandalagan, Bacolod City
Ticket Price: PhP100 (inclusive of your choice of beverage)

Calling all fans of EXO! The fan base from Negros invites you to “For a Lifetime With You,” an annual celebration for EXO members Do Kyungsoo and Kim Jongin on January 12, 2019 at Kapebro.

EXO-L Negros is the first and only fan base of the South Korean boy band in the province. Their mission is to unite and create new memories with fellow fans of EXO. If you want to meet a fellow fan, this is the place to be!




How to get to Kapebro: From the main roads of Bacolod, either ride a public utility vehicle bound for Bata or Mandalagan and ask to be dropped off at Kapebro.

Tips: Sleep well and hydrate beforehand so that you will have a lot of energy to socialize with your fellow fans.

4. Tiger Black Brawl

When: January 19, 2019

To change it up, try something completely different and attend an MMA match! This January 19, Miguel Mosquera will defend his home turf against Brazilian Afonso “Cego” Celso Jr. at the SMX Convention Center. Mosquera is a purple belt holder in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a Pan Asia jiu-jitsu tournament gold medalist. He began his MMA career at BRAWL and eventually went on to fight for PXC and URCC.




Aside from the main event, Tiger Black Brawl will feature different fighters from Bacolod, Boracay, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, and Victorias who represent 11 gyms and training centers.

How to get to the SMX Convention Center: Either take a public utility vehicle to Bata or Mandalagan; both ply the main roads of Bacolod. Ask the driver to drop you off in front of SM City Bacolod. If you are in the east area, you can ride any public utility vehicle to Sta. Fe, Homesite or Fortune Town as all will pass by SM.

Tip: Pay attention to the movements of the fighters so you don’t miss out on a single thing.
