“Hugpong para sa panambiton,” which means to gather and speak out, is an open mic night hosted by Terrapinta. With a name that combines the Latin word terra (earth) and the local word pinta (paint), Terrapinta is a Bacolod-based group of artists that started in the 2000s. In their event, everyone is invited to share original poetry, songs, or other performance pieces. The event will run on three Saturdays of February and will start on the second week.
Tip for a good experience: If you are fond of writing poetry or songs and would like to share your work with others, this event is right for you. Practice beforehand in front of a mirror so you can gain confidence for the performance.
How to get there: From downtown, ride a public utility jeepney with the “Homesite – Central Market” route. Ask the driver to drop you off at Mudmonkeys.
