PCG ensures safety on ports this holiday season
In the coming days, it is expected that the number of passengers will further increase due to the holidays. In preparation, the entire force of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Negros Occidental has started monitoring the various ports in the province under “Oplan Byaheng Ayos Pasko 2019.” The entire force is on “full alert” status [3].
Ports in Pulupandan, Cadiz, Sagay, Escalante, San Carlos City, and the Bredco and Banago in Bacolod have PCG visibility and K9 units deployed. Sub-station commanders also were ordered to inspect the equipment of all vessels before allowing them to leave port. Meanwhile, prior to boarding, passengers are required to make sure that they are not carrying any contraband or weapons.
