During the COVID-19 surveillance testing conducted by the city government of Bacolod in three major public markets, about 1,786 public market vendors were tested for COVID-19. Of this number, 695 participants were tested in Libertad Market, 600 in Burgos Market, and 491 in Central Market. The participants who were tested were given market passes and signages to be placed in their stalls showing that they have been tested. According to Administrator Em Ang, the market vendors were oriented about the program a week before the scheduled surveillance testing .
Zero active cases in 17 villages
A report released by Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Executive Director Em Ang showed that 17 out of the 61 Barangays in Bacolod City have no active COVID-19 cases. She expressed her hopes that these barangays will remain COVID-19-free and that more barangays will also have zero active cases. As of writing, barangays with zero cases are 4, 5, 9, 12, 13, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 32, 34, and 38 .
