Apo Reef Natural Park has earned recognition as an ASEAN Heritage Park, further showcasing the country’s rich biodiversity and ecological significance. It joins this prestigious network, reinforcing the Philippines' role in conserving the region’s natural treasures.

Nestled in the center of Apo Island, within the boundaries of Apo Reef Natural Park, is a vital mangrove stand covering 10 hectares.

Apo Reef Natural Park, located off the coast of Mindoro, is celebrated as the largest contiguous coral reef system in the Philippines and the second-largest globally. This wonder of the Philippines boasts an exceptional array of marine life, including over 482 fish species and 63 coral genera. Iconic species such as dugongs, whale sharks, and hammerhead sharks thrive in its pristine waters, making it a vital habitat for endangered marine life. The reef’s ecological importance extends beyond conservation, as it sustains local communities through fishing and eco-tourism.
