“Art, good food, and relaxing ambiance.” – Kervic
Couples looking to relax as the soothing sights of nature surround them can do so this Valentine’s at Punong Gary’s Place, which our readers voted as No. 1. This hidden gem restaurant in the Philippines is located in Silay City. It derives its name from “punong,” meaning fishpond in the local dialect. Owned and operated by former Side A band bassist Joey Benin, Punong Gary’s is nestled inside a sprawling hacienda (estate). The main feature of this fine-dining restaurant in the Philippines is a canopied kiosk with a long footbridge that is the perfect backdrop for picturesque sunsets. Meanwhile, features like Bali-inspired cottages and wooden sculptures make visitors feel like they have been transported to another place.
Diners can eat at the main casita or underneath gigantic old trees. Standout dishes from their five-course lunch include Asian fruit salad, creamy kalabasa (squash) soup, grilled chicken pesto Parmesan, and vanillamansi (vanilla with kalamansi) ice cream. Their slow-cooked pork belly is also one of their best sellers.
At these restaurants in the Philippines, a romantic time is a guarantee!
