We Filipinos might not be all too familiar with the term ‘comfort food.’ But as a country that loves food, we should be. Comfort food is that special dish that your mom, pop, or grandma used to make that somehow brings immense comfort during those cold rainy days, or even when you’re just feeling down.

This season of gloomy weather, our favorite comfort food is probably just what you need to lift up your spirit. But if your mom is not around to cook your favorite cold weather food, we found some restaurants in Metro Manila that might be just as good.

One restaurant that serves a good bowl of tom yum is ThaiDara. They serve two types of tom yum namely the Tom Yum Goong (Shrimp-PhP249, Chicken-PhP229), their version of the classic tom yum, and Tom Yum Noodles (PhP229), made with rice noodles and tom yum soup with shrimp and shrimp cake.
