Out-of-town overnight getaways are always a fun idea, but it eventually gets tiring if you always do the same old activities. You find a beach or a pool, enjoy the food, and sleep soundly in your choice of accommodation. An excellent way to shake things up on your next vacation is glamping! It’s a great way to get back to the basics, say goodbye (even just for a night) to your usual sleeping arrangements, and be close to nature.

Many resorts offering glamping spots near Metro Manila are perfect for those on a budget or want to make their trip more exciting. Glamping is also a growing trend if you’re not yet ready to say goodbye to comfort yet. So, tourists, if you’re considering camping or glamping near Metro Manila on your next travel getaway, read on and see spots and resorts in Metro Manila to try it out.


1. Riverfront Garden Resort

Where: Pinagsanhan B Maragondon, Cavite
Distance from Manila: 56.9 km; 1 hr 45 mins
Glamping Rates:
Regular: PhP450 to PhP2,000 depending on cottage type
With Air-conditioning: PhP2,000 to PhP4,500 depending on room size

Suppose it’s your first time camping, no need to set up your tent in a secluded forest immediately. One great alternative to the woods, though, is Riverfront Garden Resort. Just two and a half hours from Manila, and you’ll reach this little piece of nature in the heart of Cavite, surrounded by lush greeneries and the beautiful Maragondon River. Although they offer various rooms for accommodations that can fit up to 15 people, the highlight, of course, is their glamping amenities.

Their cute glamping huts can fit two persons and are equipped with comfy mattresses for a good night’s sleep. Trees abound in their camping site, providing you with a cool breeze at night, but small electric fans are also available.


2. Sands and Stars

Where: Baler-Casiguran Rd., Dinadiwan, Aurora
Distance from Manila: 307.8 km; 6 hrs 1 min
Glamping Tents: PhP1,800 suitable for 2 persons

Baler, particularly Sabang Beach, always draws crowds because its waters are perfect for surfing. If you still want to enjoy Baler minus the flock of tourists, you can stay at Dipaculao Beach. It may not be a known surfing destination, but its white-sand beach and blue waters will make your six and half hour travel from Manila worth it.

As for the accommodation, head to Sands and Stars. Their tents can fit up to four people and have mattresses, pillows, solar-powered lamps, electric sockets, and rechargeable fans. Grill and cookware are available, too.


3. Ten Cents to Heaven

Ten Cents to Heaven is a great place to spend your weekend for those who prefer a quick weekend getaway. Just an hour and a half from Manila, and you’ll get to enjoy this 30-hectare mountain resort. It is filled with thrilling activities, including an obstacle course, zipline, and a 60-foot high rappelling wall.

Ten Cents to Heaven is meant for team building and family outings, so don’t be surprised to see huge accommodations here. Small and budget-tight groups can rent smaller tents as well. Their tents are not fancy, though, and only have sleeping bags inside, so prepare to rough it out!

4. Nayomi Sanctuary Resort

Where: JM Katigbak Street, Barangay Alangilan, Balete, Batangas
Distance from Manila: 80.1 km; 1 hr 36 mins

If modern minimalism is your idea of relaxation, Nayomi Sanctuary Resort might be the place you’re looking for. After a two-hour drive, you’ll reach this modernist resort that has two pools and a kiddie park surrounded by lush vegetation. They also host a film showing under the stars and occasional campfires for their guests.

As for their glamping amenities, Nayomi has sturdy canvas bell tents that can even fit you while standing. Inside the tents, you’ll find comfy beddings, power outlets, lamps, and industrial fans, among other things.



5. Casa Antonio Vacations

Where: 143 Apacible St, Calatagan, Batangas
Distance from Manila: 142.2 km; 3 hrs 14 mins
Camping Rate: PhP999 or PhP1,999 per head, depending on the package

Step out of your tent and go straight to the beach at Casa Antonio Vacations.

Another campsite for the beach bums is Casa Antonio Vacations. Located at Calatagan, Batangas, nature is truly at your doorstep when you choose to stay at their glamping accommodations. The beach is just a couple of steps away from your tent. They also offer the famed kawa (cauldron) hot baths to pamper you after a long day at the beach.

Renting a tent at Casa Antonio already includes mattresses and pillows, full board meals, and free use of kayaks, washrooms, and charging stations. Do note that Casa Antonio doesn’t allow walk-ins. The camp has a booking policy to avoid overcrowding. Travel time going to Casa Antonio is three and a half hours.


6. BLOC Camp Site

Where: Brgy. Bukal, Bukal-Cansuso Road Cavinti, Laguna
Distance from Manila: 113.5 km; 2 hrs 48 mins
Camping rate: Starts at PhP999

If there’s a camping or vacation spot near Manila or a beach and a river, the BLOC Camp Site is near the lake. Situated near Sierra Lake, the BLOC Campsite is an ecotourism destination truly dedicated to camping. You won’t find any other type of accommodations here other than their tents and “kubo-tel”, or rooms made with materials you’ll find in a kubo or nipa hut.

BLOC Camp Site’s tents can fit up to 12 persons. You can also pitch it in their covered area for safety or near the lake for a unique experience. As for the activities, you can go boating, fishing, and swimming in the lake. They also have a film showing and in-house concerts from time to time.


7. B.Glamp

Where: B34 Chapis Village, Baguio City
Distance from Manila: 244.5 km; 3 hrs 48 mins
Camping rate: Starts at PhP750

Urban rooftop glamping might not be a popular concept, but B. Glamp is what it is precisely. B. Glamp is situated on top of a bed-and-breakfast near Baguio, offering a relaxed accommodation with mountains and pine trees as its backdrop.

The space might be limited, but it is filled with small chairs and tables for everyone’s convenience. On the other hand, the tents have air mattresses, pillows, and blankets, plus a plastic box where you can put your items. B.Glamp can be reached within four hours from Manila.
