Tourist Spots Open to NCR Tourists

From Siargao to Coron, these spots are now open to NCR tourists!


Many individuals are vaccinated, including those working in the tourism sector; several of the Philippines’ best tourist spots are now open to the National Capital Region (NCR) travelers. These destinations include Boracay, Siargao, Ilocos Norte, and Coron. , which means in the coming holidays, your following travel destinations might be from one of these spots!

But before you book or plan your entire trip itinerary, you must check for the requirements for each destination.

Missing Palawan? Here’s some good news: Coron, Palawan started accepting fully vaccinated tourists from NCR starting last September 22 through a point-to-point bubble tourism policy. Unvaccinated minors are allowed to be accompanied by a fully-vaccinated legal guardian, elder siblings, or parents [1].

Requirements include the following: vaccination card, negative RT-PCR test results taken within 48 hours before the trip, confirmed hotel booking from any Department of Tourism (DOT) accredited accommodations, and S-PaSS registration. While within the area, tourists must follow standard health protocols and procedures! Also, make sure your resort of interest is one of the authorized island resorts by the Coron LGU!

Suppose you’re missing the white sands of Boracay. In that case, you can go up to the world-class destination again after Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores issued Executive Order No. 2021-022, which formally reopens Boracay to domestic tourists.

Still, first, you must prepare the following: negative COVID-19 test results, S-PaSS registered account, Government-issued valid IDs, confirmed booking from any DOT-accredited hotels, and accommodations.

If you’re coming from areas under Alert Level 4, you can opt for swab, saliva (72 hours before travel), or rapid antigen tests (24 hours before travel). Those from Alerts Level 1-3, GCQ, or MGCQ can either present negative rapid antigen (24 hours before the trip) or be tested upon arrival.

Siargao has been receiving hype lately due to the laid-back atmosphere that most Manileños crave. Actress and singer Nadine Lustre is currently living in the quiet islands of Siargao. If you want to experience a chiller Christmas break, this famous tourist spot in the Philippines is perfect for you. Surf and chill by the beach, but do note that liquor ban and parties are prohibited—which means karaoke sessions are not allowed as well. Curfew is also in effect from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Who loves the idea of celebrating Christmas by the beach? Siargao is a holiday destination for those craving island life.


Requirements are the same as those previously mentioned. The difference is even those with single shots are allowed. Further, if you wish to extend your stay for a few more days, you will need to undergo an antigen test five days after your initial arrival.
