Every foodie knows that countries are tied to certain dishes. For instance, when you think of Japan, you’ll instantly think of ramen and sushi. Meanwhile, a mention of Italy will have you thinking of pasta and pizza. And when the Philippines is brought up, most will think of adobo.

But adobo is just the tip of the iceberg; Filipino cuisine offers more. One of the restaurants that best proves this is Locavore Kitchen and Drinks, which features various dishes catering to different taste buds. Good news for foodies: you can visit all of Locavore Kitchen and Drinks branches for dine-in! But before you go, read the implemented safety measures below to enjoy your dine-in experience.

When you look at the restaurant's menu, you’ll instantly see familiar Filipino food dishes that locals love. But these aren’t your traditional ulam (viands). The food prepared by the resto’s co-owner and chef Mikel Zaguirre features unique twists from appetizers to desserts,. An example would be the sizzling sinigang (tamarind soup) which uses gravy and fried oysters. As of writing, the restaurant offers limited items on the menu due to the pandemic.

When it comes to the interiors, Locavore Kitchen and Drinks has a simple yet warm ambiance. The interiors vary per branch, but they all have the same feeling of coziness. Each branch features pieces of furniture made of wood and metal accents, giving the place a modern-industrial look. Glass windows provide natural lighting during the day, while industrial lights light up the restaurant at nighttime. Currently, the resto has branches in Kapitolyo, BGC, Eastwood, Quezon City, Pasay City. You can also have their favorite dishes delivered to your doorstep. You may order through Lalafood, Grabfood, Pick.a.roo, and https://bXTRAoutlet.delivery.

Ever since dine-in has been allowed in Metro Manila, restaurants such as Locavore Kitchen and Drinks adopted strict safety protocols in the restaurant to ensure the safety of their customers. In their Facebook post, the Filipino resto listed their dine-in safety protocols, which are as follows:

• A “No mask, no entry” policy is enforced.
• Diners will be required to fill out a health declaration form.
• Guests’ temperatures will be taken upon entry.
• All branches have limited seats available.
• Disinfection mats, rubbing alcohol, and hand soaps are provided in all branches.
• All branches (kitchen, furniture, dining ware, kitchenware, and other tools and equipment) are disinfected regularly.
• Locavore uses “SantiBac” (sanitation bacteria) in disinfecting their restaurant. Santibac uses a 100% plant-based, non-toxic solution infused with tea tree oil. Lab tests showed that the solution could kill H1N1, HIV, Hepatitis B, Norovirus, and Rhinovirus. ⠀
• Signages and markers are placed to serve as reminders for social distancing and proper hygiene.
• Employees and staff have undergone rapid testing, COVID-19 vaccination, and frequently monitor their health status.

As of November 2021, Lacavore only accepts fully vaccinated guests who wish to dine in. Customers should present their vaccination cards; otherwise, they will occupy the resto’s al fresco dining area.
