Here's Where You Can Try the "Squid Game" Honeycomb Game

Unless you’re living under a rock, you are familiar with the viral South Korean Netflix show “Squid Game.” The craze for the hit thriller brought out memes, fan-made merch, and even the #HoneycombChallenge! And if you think you are skilled enough to survive the game like Gi-Hun and Sae-Byeok, you can try the famous honeycomb or dalgona (Korean sugar sweet) candy challenge for yourself in Metro Manila!
Below are several local bakeshops and restaurants where you can experience this fun squid game in Manila—both dine-in and delivery!
1. Bakebe PH
Location: SM Aura BGC
Operating Hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM; Delivery is from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Are you an aspiring baker as well? You can try your hands making your cake at this baking studio, Bakebe PH. All of their customers who get to bake can also try the honeycomb challenge, where they can win a gift once they succeed in the challenge! But if you want to stay at home, you can also order their dalgona candies so you can try the challenge with your loved ones! As for the consequences when you lose, you have to find out for yourself.
2. Ciao Cha Cafe
Location: Angono, Rizal
Cafe Hours: 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM
Even if you didn’t manage to trim the honeycomb successfully, you’re already a winner because of this cafe’s yummy milk teas!

For those living just a few hours outside Metro Manila, you can head to Angono, Rizal, too, if you want to experience the #honeycombchallenge craze. At Ciao Cha cafe, you will get to try your hands on the dalgona challenge with a cup of their finest milk teas! Each cup of their Squid Game-inspired drink is also just below PhP100! The best thing is you can even do the challenge at home with your kids! These treats are perfect right in time for the Halloween season! And for Manilenos, this restaurant is near Manila—about 40 minutes away.
3. School Tteokbokki

Operating Hours: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM; Monday to Sunday

For couples or small groups of friends, you can head to School Tteokbokki—know who’s the fastest to finish the honeycomb challenge when you dine in their Marikina restaurant! A Surprise prize awaits those who are skilled enough to trim the shapes successfully!
While you’re there, you can also try their Korean dishes like gimbap (colorful Korean rolls), tteokkbokki (rice cakes), and dosirak (lunch box). They are open for al-fresco as well! Plus, this restaurant offers a chill atmosphere perfect for dining during the late afternoon and evening.
4. Hodai Set
Location: 14 Examiner St., West Triangle, Quezon City
Operating Hours: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM; Monday to Sunday
Hodai’s Squid Game offering is until October 10 only.

For a limited time only, customers in this Quezon City-based restaurant can try the dalgona challenge. Customers can choose from one of the four boxes with printed shapes at Hodai Set. Each participant can use their toothpick, tongue, or cold water. Those who will successfully trim the sweet treat will get a free Daebag set from the resto! And if you lose, it’s okay! Their unlimited Korean-Japanese BBQ is already a tasty consolation treat.

If you prefer staying in your own home but still don’t want to miss out on this fun game, you can order your own from By Design Ph! Their sugar honeycomb comes in different shapes: heart, circle, flower, and star!
You can take a video of yourself doing the challenge to get a prize! Prizes go up to 500 pesos and vary per shape; you can get cashback if you manage to trim the heart one! The time limit differs per shape with the circle and flower for 10 minutes, a star for 6 minutes, and a heart for 5 minutes.
