Many tourists flock to
Puerto Princesa City to see the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, but the UNESCO World Heritage Site is not the only must-visit spot in the city. In 2019, the city government data of Puerto Princesa listed
Baker’s Hill as one of the most visited tourist spots in the area. With its beautiful features and close proximity to major hotels in Puerto Princesa, it’s no wonder that it is included in trip itineraries.
Baker’s Hill is mostly known for affordable and freshly made sweets and pastries that every person with a sweet tooth will love. The shop is responsible for local favorites like egg pies, chocolate crinkles, assorted flavors of
hopia (mooncake), brownies, and breads. Read on below to see why Baker’s Hill is worth the visit.
More Than a Souvenir Shop
Aside from the delicious treats, the vicinity of the souvenir shop is also a tourist haven because of its spacious park, which is open to the public for free. One of the most popular spots in the compound is the two-level viewing deck where guests can take a look of the city and surrounding ocean.
In the heart of the compound is Baker’s Kitchen, a restaurant that serves classic favorites like palabok (noodle dish with orange shrimp sauce), brick oven pizza, pasta, vegetable dishes, seafood dishes, chicken dishes, beef dishes, and pork dishes. Besides snacks and pastries, Baker’s Hill also offered accessories, key chains, printed shirts, and other trinkets through the souvenir shop. These shops have yet to reopen, but Baker’s Hill Bakeshoppe has resumed operations!
Recently, it opened a pop-up store to cater to locals who want to buy their favorite pastries more easily. The pop-up store is located at Camarihwood San Pedro, and it operates from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. In addition to the pop-up store, Baker’s Hill Bakeshoppe’s products are also available at Kawaikokoro.
