Thunderstorms are in the forecast this week. Don’t let the gloomy weather dampen your spirit as a series of great news awaits tourists. Massive road projects, improvement of airport facilities, construction of a new hotel, and tourism related infrastructure projects are in this week’s updates.

Thunderstorms ahead

Bacolod will still be affected by thunderstorms throughout the week. The public is advised to stay at home and avoid going to open fields during thunderstorms following incidents of individuals struck by lightning in the past months. The minimum temperature will be at 25 °C while the maximum temperature will be at 32 °C [1].

Massive road projects in Negros

Two massive road projects is now ongoing and will greatly improve the economy and industry of Negros Occidental. The projects include the Bacolod Economic Highway, four-lane road that spans a 21.8 km that includes three bridges and a two-way bike lane, that would serve as an alternative circumferential road bypassing the busy Bacolod City Central District [2]. Another one is the envisioned longest bridge connecting Panay, Guimaras and Negros. This is great news for tourists who want to travel the three islands sans the ferries and barges.
