It’s a good thing that there are a variety of events in Bacolod this December 2019 to choose from. You can either sip warm coffee while looking at mosaic artworks of a local artist, join cup sleeve events with fellow K-Pop fans, or attend a free concert. 1. Pajama Party for TAEJINMIN

Where: Baldevia Function Hall, San Juan St., Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
When: December 7, 2019

ARMY North Negros, a Kpop fan group, planned a Pajama Party with a galaxy-themed venue for BTS fans. The event will celebrate the birthdays of Korean popstars Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Kim Seokjin (collectively known as TAEJINMIN) from the boy band BTS. Freebies will include a banner, photo strip, Lomo cards, glow bracelets, and cute-sized photos of the three celebrants. The event will also have a raffle draw, so better wish upon the TAEJINMIN stars for good luck!

How to get there: Ride a Bata-Libertad jeepney heading south anywhere along Lacson Street. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Baldevia Pension House located on San Juan Street. Enter the small alley to reach the pension house’s main entrance.



2. TAEJIN “A Winter Delight” Cup Sleeve Event

Where: Café de Lan, Lizares Avenue, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
When: December 12, 2019

Another cup sleeve event, this time hosted by Moonchild Bacolod for Kim Taehyung and Kim Seokjin of BTS, will happen at Café de Lan’s grounds this December. Cup sleeve events are usually held at coffee and tea shops to celebrate an idol’s birthday, anniversary, or achievement. The winter-themed gathering will feature cup sleeves with the faces of the celebrities and will also feature freebies like a keyring, photocards, A4 posters, banners, and round stickers for the attendees. If you avail of the pre-registered ticket, you also get an entry for the event’s raffle draw.

How to get there: From North Ceres Terminal, find a Bata-Libertad PUV heading south. Ask the driver to drop you off in front of the University of Negros Occidental Recoletos (UNO-R). Then, cross the road to reach the entrance of the café.



3. Balai-Balai ni Tey

Where: Modern Hut Café, Market Place, Villa Angela, Bacolod City
When: December 13, 2019
Ticket Price: Free

Drop by at Modern Hut Café and see the artworks of Ihvonie “Tey” Sevilleno that tells a story of one’s childhood memories. Balai-Balai, which is the name of the exhibit, comes from the Hiligaynon term which means playing house; it could also mean “many houses.” The artist highlights and reminisces childhood games through mosaics and colorful stilts. Enjoy a cup of coffee with Tey’s eye-catching art exhibit on the walls.

Tip for a better experience: A good way to support a local artist is by purchasing their artworks. You can also bring your friends to get more people inspired by the artist’s work.

How to get there: From Burgos Public Market, take a Homesite-Central Market jeepney headed east. Before riding the jeepney, ask if it would pass by the Government Center. Then, tell the driver to drop you off in front of Hi-Strip 2 building. Cross the street to reach the entrance of Villa Angela Market Place and then proceed to a small alley to your right to take a shortcut. Take the street on your left and walk a few meters to find Modern Hut Café, which is located on the left side of the road.



4. TAEJIN Cup Sleeve Event

Where: Builtea, O Residences Building, Lacson St., Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
When: December 21, 2019

There’s another cup sleeve event in line with TAEJIN’s birthday celebration, and this one is organized by Youniverse BCD. This time, the event is over milk tea and tapiocas! Get a chance to make your own milk tea drink if you purchase the Love Myself ticket for only PhP330. Random photocards, a back-to-back TAEJIN photocard, cup sleeves, a head banner, photo strips, and a raffle ticket will be given to the event’s participants.

How to get there: From Capitol Lagoon, take a Bata-Libertad or Mandalagan-Libertad jeepney heading north. Get off on the side of Robinson’s Place Mandalagan’s overpass and cross the street to reach the O Residences building. Enter the building and head straight to find Builtea.


5. SB19 Free Concert

Where: Kansilayan Stadium, Silay City, Negros Occidental
When: December 22, 2019
Ticket price: Free

SB19 is kicking off their free nationwide tour in Silay’s concert grounds! SB19 is the first P-pop (Philippine-pop) boy band trained by ShowBT, a Korean entertainment company that branched out in the country. The Filipino boy group was formed to introduce a new music culture in the Philippines through their performances and own compositions. It’s your chance to support Filipino talent while enjoying K-pop music!

Tip for a better experience: Bring handheld fans since the stadium doesn’t have an air-conditioning system. Also, since the event is free, come to the venue early to have good seats.

How to get there: Take a Victorias Ceres Bus bound north at the North Ceres Terminal. Get off in front of Silay Institute and find a pedicab or tricycle. Then, ask the driver to drop you off at Kansilayan Stadium or Silay’s City Gym.
