Bacolod, travel, things to do, weather

One can’t help but feel the December breeze in Bacolod City. This week’s weather will keep you staying indoors because of the thunderstorms and afternoon showers. Meanwhile, Bacolod City Mayor revealed that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has allocated a budget for the Bacolod Public Plaza rehabilitation.

In other news, you can add Jinggoy’s Mountain Resort to your bucket list to enjoy the upcoming holiday vacation. And for even more fun and exciting Christmas activities, Tanduay recently turned the lights on of their Christmas tree at the Bacolod City Government Center.

Weather Advisory: Mostly cloudy with afternoon showers and thunderstorms

Indoor activities will most likely be your first choice this week because of the approaching wet weather. On most days, cloudy skies and afternoon showers are expected to develop in the City of Smiles. Moreover, the cold breeze in December will make you want to drink a cup of hot choco or a cup of coffee each time when you get up in the morning. This week’s temperatures in Bacolod will range from 29°C to 31°C [1].

Traffic News: Public Plaza gets budget for rehab

Situated in the downtown area of Bacolod, Bacolod City Public Plaza is considered as one of the top tourist attractions in the city. Since it is situated right across the historical San Sebastian Cathedral church, many tourists never miss their chance to strike a pose in the plaza as proof that they have visited the City of Smiles.

However, as per Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, the said tourist spot requires rehabilitation. He added that there’s a need to replace the plaza’s ground, walkway, and lighting system. Mayor Leonardia has also revealed that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has already allocated a PhP23 million budget for the rehab [2].He also said that the City Engineer’s Office will be the one to handle the rehab project and that the contractor already started the repair or rehabilitation of the public plaza.

Travel update: New mountain resort opens

Another tourist attraction in Negros Province has been discovered. Feel the foggy, Tagyatay-like ambiance at Jinggoy’s Resort [3].With this new Instagramable spot located in the Municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto, one can enjoy the beauty and the scenery of the mountains without spending that much.

This mountain resort is quite far from the hustle and bustle of the city but the view keeps your road trip worth it and will give you the urge to come back. Jinggoy’s Resort requires an entrance fee of PhP100. With its amenities such as cottages, a garden, and swimming pool that will open soon, adults and children will fall in love with the place.

Lights on for Tanduay’s Christmas tree

Tanduay recently turned the lights on of their 29-foot tree made out of 92 Tanduay barrels with colorful holiday décor at the Bacolod City Government Center [4].According to the company’s press release, Tanduay had also set up the same Christmas tree at the Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro.

Last November, this 165-year-old Filipino brand was also distinguished as the only brand in the Alcoholic Spirits - Rum Category in the country to receive the national-tier Brand of the Year Award for the fifth straight year from the World Branding Awards.

Tanduay intends to end 2019 on a high note with several milestones. They also plan to expand into international markets as well as to partner with leading distributors across the country.
