1. The Ruins

Where: Talisay City, Negros Occidental

The Ruins’ history tells a story of overflowing love meeting a series of tragic events and still overcoming the test of time. In fact, the love story is built into the architecture: M-shaped arches, which stand for “Mariano” (the sugar baron who built the house as an emblem of his love for Maria), can be seen side by side all around the mansion’s exteriors. When visiting with, note that the best time to see the true beauty of the place is during sundown until nighttime, when the lights around the mansion come bright.

How to get to The Ruins: From Robinson’s Place Mandalagan, cross the street using the overpass and wait for a Bata-Libertad jeepney. Get on the jeepney and tell the driver to drop you off at “Bangga Pepsi.” Once you get off, walk towards the pedicab area and ask to be dropped off at the entrance of The Ruins.



2. Kampo Hiyang-Hiyang Mountain Resort

Where: Sitio Campuestohan, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental
Recommended budget for two: PhP2,500 (includes Narra Hut and food)

Then, ask the driver to drop you off at the pedicab station going to Kampo Hiyang-Hiyang. Once you reach the pedicab station, inform the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Kampo Hiyang-Hiyang.


3. Graceland View Resort & Residences

Where: Purok PNOC1, Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental
Recommended budget for two: PhP3,500 (includes Villa house and food)

How to get to Pugad Viewing Deck: Take a Victorias Ceres Bus at the North Ceres Terminal and get off at Silay-Patag Terminal located beside Prince Supermarket in Silay City. Get on the Silay-Patag jeepney and ask to be dropped off at “Bangga Pugad.” When you get off the jeepney, enter the paved road and walk towards Pugad Viewing Deck.

As of January 2021, Pugad Viewing Deck is still temporarily closed.



5. May’s Organic Garden and Restaurant

Where: Araneta Avenue, Sitio Aning, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
Recommended budget for two: PhP900 (includes entrance fees and lunch)

How to get to May’s Organic Garden and Restaurant: Ride a Pta. Taytay-Central Market jeepney from Bacolod Public Plaza. Then, tell the driver to drop you off in front of May’s Garden. Once you get off, you will see the main entrance with the park’s sign.
