For the most part, 2020 and 2021 were spent cooking meals at home, ordering food online, and waiting at the drive-thru area for fast food. But this year, you can say goodbye to meals at home as you dine at these homegrown restaurants in Bacolod!
After a wave of closing and opening, restaurants in Bacolod have finally adjusted to the health protocols and complied with the new routines to remain serving all-time favorite meals on their tables. So if you’re wondering which of your favorite Bacolod restaurants have reopened to accept diners, this article’s got you covered. Read on!
1. Apollo Restaurant
Location: Irene Building, Hilado-Malaspina Sts., Bacolod Negros Occidental Philippines
Operating Hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (Mon to Thur, Sat); 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM (Fri and Sun)
Both locals and tourists in Bacolod City love Apollo Restaurant for its affordable, authentic Chinese specialties.

This family-run business offers authentic Chinese dishes that have been operating for over 50 years now. If you are craving pancit guisado (rice noodles with soy sauce), lomi (thick fresh egg noodles), steamed siomai (steamed Chinese dumplings), and lumpia shanghai (spring rolls), Apollo Restaurant is the place to be, as it serves these dishes hot to your table. Also, a specialty and must-try is the restaurant’s Bird’s Nest, a soup with vegetables and quail egg.
To date, the restaurant has six branches in Bacolod, including Hilado Street, Cuadra Street, 888 Chinatown Square, Lopues’ East Centre, Paseo Verde Mandalagan, and Goldenfield Commercial Complex.
2. Bob’s Restaurant
Location: North Drive, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
Operating Hours: Opens daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Bob’s Restaurant serves a variety of Filipino, American, and Mongolian dishes.

One of the oldest restaurants in the city, Bob’s Restaurant remains open even as the pandemic spreads. This homegrown restaurant in Bacolod is well known for its Sate Babe (PhP155), Mongolian Bowl (PhP250), and Baby Back Ribs (PhP320). Now that it is open for dine-in services, you enjoy the popular unlimited Mongolian Bowl for lunch or dinner!
3. Aboy’s Restaurant
Location: Corner Azalea-Mimosa Street, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
Operating Hours: Opens daily from 10:00 Am to 7:30 PM except Sunday

The well-loved restaurant conquered the pandemic and continues to serve abundant seafood and meat selections to its patrons. They have gone a long way since the ’90s and remain to be one of the pioneers of turo-turo style, wherein customers decide from the selections and have the cook prepare it however they want.
4. Masskara Chicken Inasal
Location: Villa Angela Eastwalk 3, Bacolod Government Center, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
Apart from its famous grilled chicken, the restaurant also serves cansi, sizzling gambas, and stuffed squid.

As a local, you know it would be a lie if you said you don’t miss the smell of grilled chicken, the unlimited chicken oil, and banana leaves on wooden plates. Grilled chicken and chicken inasal is a famous food in Bacolod. Luckily, Masskara Chicken Inasal at Villa Angela Eastwalk 3 is an open-air restaurant where you can devour your all-time favorite chicken inasal (grilled chicken) safely. But before eating this Ilonggo delicacy the right way (sans fork and spoon!), remember to wash your hands properly.
5. Roli’s Diner
Location: Ground Floor, Lopues East Center, Burgos-Circumferential Road, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental
Operating Hours: Opens daily from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM

One of the oldest homegrown restaurants to date, Roli’s Diner in Bacolod continues to be open to diners amid the pandemic. Perfect for snacks after errands in the afternoon, the restaurant is particularly known for its chicken sandwich and “Bijon Malabon.”
