2024 is considered an excellent start for this resort island because of the return of the Boracay tourism industry, especially for Boracay foreign tourists at its peak!

It could be recalled that the tourism industry and tourist destinations in Boracay suffered an all-time low because of the infamous Boracay six-month closure on February 26, 2018. It was supposed to recover from the losses soonest, but the COVID-19 pandemic affected this resort island from 2020 until 2022. Now, Boracay has returned and improved, offering a variety of exciting adventures to experience.

If you’re looking for new adventures and tourist spots in Boracay, here are three exciting summer water activities!

For those unfamiliar, wingfoiling, wingsurfing, or winging is a wind-propelled water sport that developed from kitesurfing, windsurfing, and surfing. You can enjoy it at Boracay Waterworld Resort and Gecko Restobar.

Boracay Waterworld Resort is at Sitio Tulubhan, Barangay Manocmanoc Boracay, Malay, Aklan. This spot in Boracay is famous for South Korean tourists because the management is South Korean. Still, they had Filipino staff who welcomed Filipino tourists wanting to experience their South Korean hospitality. They have been known for their South Korean cuisine and resorts for several years.

This year, they introduced new water activities, including windsurfing, kiteboarding, paddle boating, and wing foil. Wing foil activity starts at PhP3,800 per head.

2. Cliff Diving

Cliff diving has five different boards and platforms ranging from as low as three meters to as high as 15 meters. A recommended tourist spot in Boracay where you can try it is Ariel’s Point.

Several years ago, the Huffington Post listed Ariel’s Point as one of the top cliff diving destinations in the world, and the day trip package has been recommended by Fodor’s Travel and award-winning travel bloggers.

Ariel Point is a 35-minute boat ride from Station 1 from Boracay. This eco-adventure tourist destination in Boracay is located on the western edge of Buruanga, Aklan. Ariel’s Point’s unique location provides guests with beautiful views of turquoise swimming holes, colorful marine life, lush tropical forests, and volcanic rock formations.

Ariel’s Point is a fun day trip destination for Boracay visitors and residents alike. Featured in Asian Traveler, Cosmopolitan, and Mabuhay magazines as one of Boracay’s #1 ranked attractions, this eco-adventure paradise provides guests with the opportunity to cliff dive, kayak, paddleboard, boat cruise, lunch buffet, open bar, sunbathing with a beautiful view of the Sulu Sea and snorkel in an unspoiled tropical setting.

Trips depart daily from Smooth Cafe in Ariel’s House at 11:15 AM and return to Boracay’s White Beach at 5:00 PM.

3. Rainbow Mermaid Swim

Like Ariel’s Point, the mermaid swim is also a classic in Boracay. Be like a mermaid and try this activity at Boracay Mermaid. Boracay Mermaid closed their operation in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also revved their operation early this year.

At Boracay Mermaid, you will experience a once-in-a-lifetime feeling of becoming like a mermaid for 90 minutes. This is good not only for female tourists but is also advisable for men to try it.

This spot in Boracay offers a swimming course and a photo opportunity for those who will avail. You can avail of both activities for only PhP2,300 in Boracay. If you choose only the photo session, the price is PhP1,200 for each person. The scuba and snorkeling equipment will incur additional expenses depending on the availability and requests of the tourists.
