On March 15, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose Alino and Subic International Hotel Corporation (SIHC) officials held a groundbreaking ceremony to announce the commencement of the construction of a state-of-the-art facility.

This world-class facility is set to become a landmark destination, promising to offer top-notch services to Subic Bay Freeport patrons.

ACCOR International Group is set to construct the luxurious Subic Sun Convention Resort and Casino Inc. project in several phases. The resort will be sprawled over a vast six-hectare property, offering a stunning view of the surrounding landscape. The project will feature a five-star Subic resort hotel with an integrated resort casino complex, offering guests many entertainment options. The resort will be designed to provide guests with an unparalleled experience with world-class amenities and services. The operations are anticipated to start in 2025 with a total investment of USD300 million (PhP16.6 billion), making it one of the most significant investments in the region.

In the project's initial phase, Ibis Styles and Mercure Hotels are set to open in 2026, with 170 and 250 rooms, respectively. While both brands offer top-notch hospitality services, they cater to different market segments. Ibis Styles prides itself on providing in-style stays, whereas Mercure is known for its upscale and sophisticated midscale hotels.
