1. Cabanas Dine and Bar

Address: 9034 Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Silang Junction South, Tagaytay City

Tagaytay

Let this tropical restaurant, Cabanas Dine and Bar, take care of all your summer woes.

This tropical-themed restaurant along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road is a fitting solution to your summer woes, if you have any. Cabanas Dine and Bar just opened last December, yet it’s already getting rave reviews because of its astounding ambiance and its location, at the edge of the upland overlooking the Taal Lake and Volcano.

Their wall murals display an artistic taste of the tropical life, made apparent by the bursting beach as well as the lush, natural accents. Bless your photo feeds with a photo of their fascia, or of their picturesque panoramic view of Taal’s natural sights.

For their menu, you can munch on their must-try Filipino cuisines, or get a glass or two of their cocktails or their local and craft beers. You can also enjoy lunch with the family, but given their prime spot, sipping your drink over the sunset isn’t a bad idea, too. They’re open from 11AM to 2AM anyway, and they host a live band on Fridays and Saturdays, so there’s never a bad time to visit!

2. Twin Lakes Hotel

Address: Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Laurel, Batangas City

Twin Lakes Hotel gives you an exclusive taste of what it’s like amidst European luxuries.

If you’re looking for a more relaxing stay in Tagaytay this summer, then the newly-opened Twin Lakes Hotel should be a good option. The 1,200-hectare property seems like it was built in the era of Europe’s renaissance, with its castle-like structure resembling the regale residences of old.

All rooms in Twin Lakes Hotel have their own HD cable TV, bathtubs, and coffee and tea makers. Each also has its own balcony, so you can marvel at the beauty of Taal Lake and Volcano. The establishment even has its very own 10-hectare vineyard, the first of its kind in the country.

You can savor your meals in their very own luxury restaurant, the Twin Lakes Café, or their curated bar, the Zabana Bar, which serves their signature Zabana Rum. Twin Lakes Hotel also has its own game room, a pool deck, an outdoor lounge, and an in-house wellness spa, and even its own heated infinity pool.

And as a testament to its distinction, it was recently awarded the Country Winner for the Best Hotel Development in Asia category at the 2018 Asia Property Awards, as well as the Best Hotel Development at the 2018 Philippines Property Awards.

Visiting Tagaytay is trading in the stressful life in the city for the simple and laidback life, and that’s what 8087’s Diner is all about: good food, good company, and good memories.

Just a shy of a month from opening business, 8087’s Diner is a simple yet satisfying eatery in Barangay San Francisco along Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road that serves your staple comfort foods. They have wings, burgers, juices, the ever-lovable milk tea, and even branded beers, which you can enjoy while sitting or lounging on one of their mats and low tables, for an even more comfortable experience. They even have their own LED TV for added entertainment.

4. Neri’s Not-So-Secret Garden

No one is spared from the rock singer Chito Miranda’s and actress Neri Naig’s love pronouncements online. That’s why the latter’s most recent business venture, Neri’s Not-So-Secret Garden, was bound to reach the public in no time.

This new place in Tagaytay deserves the attention anyway; with its ambiance that’s both stunning and soothing, it seems to be the perfect spot to play out your favorite romantic film. Sitting cozy beneath the palm trees and lush greeneries of the hillside and overlooking Tagaytay’s bounty of nature, Neri’s Not-So-Secret Garden was quick to garner approval upon its first month of business, both for her sumptuous meals as well as her enthusiasm for grooming the garden.

Given her husband’s stature, it wasn’t long before musical acts found their way to the venue. Guests like Aiza Seguerra, Ben & Ben, Moonstar 88, and Gracenote have serenaded visitors. Space is limited, though, so advanced booking is encouraged.

5. Brizo Hotel and Mountain View Resort

Address: Kabangaan Road, Barangay Cabangaan, Silang-Tagaytay Road, Tagaytay City

They say the more, the merrier, and that’s why some places have to be able to handle large groups: exactly what Brizo Hotel and Mountain View Resort brings to the table. With a capacity crowd of 300 heads at best, the two-hectare property caters to everyone, and with an astounding view to match.

Owned by famed PBA player Robert Jaworski Jr. and former actress Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, Brizo Hotel and Resort opened just at the turn of the year. The hotel with a mountain view also has premium accommodations which have LED cable TVs, mini fridges, heated showers, and ample closet spaces. But it sets itself apart by hosting outing for large groups and sports teams, such as tournaments, trainings, skills clinics, corporate seminars, and more.

Within the property lie a couple of infinity pools, fitness trails, poolside and upper deck snack bars, and its very own gymnasium. To add, they also have an in-house bistro, Casa Arco, managed by the basketball player’s brother, chef Ryan Jaworski.
