COVID-19 vaccines Sinovac and AstraZeneca made its way to the province of Batangas. The first supply of doses were immediately given to the medical frontliners of private hospitals after being distributed by the authorities. Meanwhile, vaccine registration for elders in Batangas have also been launched.
While the vaccination for health workers is ongoing, the government is also encouraging its senior citizens to register for the COVID-19 vaccination program. COVID-19 vaccine registration for senior citizens of Batangas is ongoing
The COVID-19 vaccination program for medical frontliners in Batangas began last March 8, 2021 at the Batangas Medical Center (BATMC). Two hundred BATMC health workers were prioritized and vaccinated with the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine. The ceremonial vaccination program was spearheaded by the Department of Health-Calabarzon Director Eduardo Janairo.
Meanwhile, around 400 healthcare workers of Jesus of Nazareth Hospital (JONH) also received jabs of AstraZeneca vaccine last March 19, 2021. Besides JONH, four more private hospitals in Batangas including Batangas Healthcare Specialists Medical Center, St. Camillus de Lellis, and St. Patrick’s Hospital Medical Center also received vaccine supplies.
Now that the inoculation program has officially started in the province, the local government is continuously calling on the senior citizens of Batangas to register for the program. Those who wish to get vaccinated must register with their respective Senior Citizen President of their barangays or visit the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).
