Even just looking around Canyon de Boracay can be relaxing.
Gone were the days when only dauntless travelers would have the courage to visit Boracay. The once-secret paradise only known to Western backpackers has evolved into a bustling tourist island. Over the years, Boracay has transformed into an accessible destination for both local and international travelers. In fact, thousands of travelers visit this world-renowned island each day just to experience its white sand beaches, engaging water sports activities, and diverse gastronomic delights. And with years of development and booming tourism, the beaches that used to be surrounded only by coconut trees are now enveloped with commercial buildings.
While there are 12 beaches surrounding Boracay, one that is well-known in the international arena is White Beach, an immaculate four-kilometer beach with white sand as soft as baby powder. White Beach is divided into three sections, and on its central part is Station 2 where most of the action happens.

Canyon de Boracay used to be a boutique hotel operated by another property owner. But in 2012, Canyon Hotels and Resorts transformed the place into a serene sanctuary. Seven years later, the brand has become popular among travelers, and even today, its name continues to resonate with tourists.
Although Station 2 is like a tourist jungle, finding Canyon de Boracay is easy as 1-2-3. It’s about five minutes from the main road and just two minutes away from the beachfront. The moment you enter the property, you will instantly feel a different vibe thanks to its green landscape. The huge trees tucked in between the opposite buildings of the hotel provide a soothing contrast from the heat and chaos outside. There are even pine trees—an uncommon sight which you would not expect in an island!
What follows are some of the things about Canyon de Boracay that made us want to stay longer.
Comfy and Spacious Rooms
Rooms are designed for relaxation after a tiring and activity-filled day.
Canyon de Boracay put great emphasis on the comfort of their guests. To prove that, the hotel is equipped with modern amenities to make every guest’s stay convenient and relaxing. Some of the features found in all rooms are a sofa, 32-inch television, wardrobe closet, and a safety deposit box.
Meanwhile, the rooms themselves are spacious; in fact, accommodations for two are big enough to fit a family! In total, the hotel has 31 rooms: 15 courtyard suites, eight villa suites, and eight deluxe rooms.
The Courtyard Suites are good for family or groups of travelers.
Their Courtyard Suite (PhP10,000) can accommodate up to six people. It has two queen beds and a mini bar. Ground floor suites have their own private garden while upper rooms have balconies.

If you’re travelling solo or with a group less than four, you can opt for Canyon de Boracay’s Deluxe Room (PhP8,000). The deluxe rooms have two double beds, a sofa, and a mini refrigerator. Those on the ground floor can also chill in their own private garden.
The Villa Suites have the biggest floor space and are perfect for honeymooners.
Their biggest rooms are the Villa Suites (PhP12,000). Each room has a king bed, a mini kitchen, and a spacious private balcony. With its intimate setup, this accommodation type is perfect for honeymooners.

Traviesa means ‘piece of wood’ in Spanish which is highlighted by the natural look of the restaurant.
You need not go far to try delicious food on the island since Canyon de Boracay has its own in-house restaurant, Travesia. It’s hard to miss, as it is set just in front of the resort’s lobby. Travesia’s signature drink will also be your first taste of Canyon de Boracay’s hospitality, as you will be served with this refreshing drink while waiting to be checked in.
Travesia translates to “piece of wood” in Spanish, and you can already tell that this is what it means just by looking at its rustic look. Although this al-fresco restaurant serves an array of European and Asian menu, classic Filipino dishes are also a hit among diners.
The seafood in this dish gives a unique twist to the classic Filipino dish.
One of their specialty dishes is the seafood kare-kare, a stew with a thick peanut sauce. Kare-kare is normally composed of ox tail, offal, and tripe, so having seafood as the meat is a delightful and unique take on the traditional recipe. You would surely ask for some extra rice with this dish’s savory flavor.

If you prefer something lighter, then try the grilled salmon with lemon butter. It is highly recommended as its bright flavors are not too heavy on the stomach. It is served with rice and some vegetables to still make for a satisfying meal.

If you want to skip the rice, they also serve pasta and pizzas. Their signature Traviesa pizza is perfect for meat lovers. Who would not drool over a pizza with ham, bacon, pepperoni, various types of sausage, and salami? If you’re a vegetarian, Travesia also has menu options for you.
Choose from any of these classic cocktails as you bask in the late afternoon sun.
You can finish your meal with some classic Filipino desserts such as leche flan (caramel custard) or halo halo (shaved ice with various toppings). Don’t have a sweet tooth but suffer from thirst? Don’t worry! Travesia offers various alcoholic drinks, too. They serve classic cocktails, premium wine, and liquors.
