This is probably the closest you’re going to get to an American burger in Bacolod. Gunny’s All American Burger serves authentic American-style burgers and good old-fashioned sides. The place is owned by retired U.S. Marine Corps agent Gene Jackson, who got all the recipes from his mother in North Carolina. Since it is close to a university, the prices of the burgers are affordable without sacrificing their quality. They have a “secret” menu, but for starters, their charcoal flame-grilled burger is the crowd favorite.



How to get to Gunny’s All American Burger: If you are at South Ceres Terminal, cross the street and board a Shopping La Salle-Central Market PUV. Then, ask the driver to drop you off across Eclipse Gym. Once you get off, enter the street to your right and walk a few meters to find the Heritage Dormitory. Gunny’s All American Burger is located on the left side of the building.


2. The Pork Barrel Burger from Das Burgery

Where: Door 4-B Monfort Motors Building, Lacson Street, Mandalagan, Bacolod City

Das Burgery prides itself in not taking any shortcuts when making quality burgers. With every bite, you will know that the beef patties are made from premium beef cuts that are freshly ground, and natural ingredients that are hand-picked carefully. Chomp on their most wanted burger: The Pork Barrel (PhP160), which consists of all-beef patty with cheddar cheese, bacon strips, organic lettuce and tomato, and the house’s special sauce. If you want a proper cheat meal, this is the place to sin.

How to get to Das Burgery: Along Lacson Street, ride a Bata-Libertad PUV bound north. Get off at BPI Mandalagan Branch. From there, you will find Das Burgery beside the bank.

Chef Marquino’s Burgerhouse has two words for you: stabbed burgers. When served, their burgers are skewered with a knife. Some burgers are even torched in front of you! This burger joint offers massive portions of meat and fillings that will make you struggle to take a bite. But once you do, the flavors will delight your taste buds.

How to get to Chef Marquino’s Burgerhouse: From North Ceres Terminal, hop on a Mandalagan-Libertad PUV and get off at Starbucks Lacson located at 18th Street. Once you get off, enter 18th street and walk going to Palms 1 (at the back of Shell Station) located at the left side of the street. Enter the food strip and you will find Chef Marquino’s to your right.

4. Charlie's Burger from Roli’s Café

Where: Roli's Arcade, La Salle Avenue, Bacolod City

Its simplicity is the highlight of the preparation, but every bite of this burger would have you coming back time to time again.



How to get to Roli’s Café: Ride an Eroreco-Central Market PUV at the back of Puregold Central Market. Ask the driver to drop you off in front of Roli’s Arcade. Once you get off, cross the street to find the café’s entrance.


5. 5-Minute DBB Challenge Burger from Dalum Balay Burger

Where: 481 Corner Malaspina Street, B.S. Aquino Drive, Villamonte, Bacolod City

How to get to Dalum Balay Burger: From Burgos Public Market, get on a San Agustin-Central Market PUV in front of Negros Grace Pharmacy. Then, ask the driver to drop you off at Villamonte Pedicab Station. Ride a pedicab and tell the driver to bring you to Dalum Balay Burger at 481 Corner Malaspina Street.
